Browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows. Here are some highlights…

New Order, Holy Ghost! @ Williamsburg Park
While it’s not the same without Peter Hook’s low-slung bass-playing, getting to hear hits like “Age of Consent,” “The Perfect Kiss” and “Temptation” outside as the sun sets is hard to resist. Well-matched openers Holy Ghost! start the evening off at 6:45 PM.

Red Hot & FELA LIVE! w/ Tony Allen, Superhuman Happiness, Baloji, Avena Koomson, Kronos Quartet, Sahr Ngaujah, Sinkane, Kalmia Traver of Rubblebucket @ Damrosch Bandshell (FREE)
This all-star tribute to Fela Kuti is making its premiere tonight as part of the Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival.

The Lemonheads, Colin Ruel @ Knitting Factory
Evan Dando hasn’t put out a new Lemonheads album in four years, but his voice still sounds great and there’s no denying the appeal of ’90s alt-rock hits like “It’s a Shame About Ray,” “Big Gay Heart” and “Into Your Arms.”

La Misma, Potty Mouth, Divorce Money @ McCarren Park
Summerscreen continues today with a screening of ’90s teen witch flick The Craft. If you’re going, we especially recommend you catch Potty Mouth, who make great punky indie rock.

OBN IIIs, Ex-Cults, Hector’s Pets @ Mercury Lounge
Garage punk is served in heaping doses at Mercury Lounge tonight, when Austin’s intense OBN IIIs team with Ex-Cults for a ripping eve at the venue. If you can’t make it, tomorrow’s similar bill will suffice, and will be in the stage-dive friendly Death by Audio.

Smith Westerns, Wampire @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
With each record, Smith Westerns get further and further away from the T-Rex-isms that typified their early material and have settled into their own pop-rock sound. Tonight’s show is with Portland’s underrated Wampire.

Rustie, Cashmere Cat @ Output
Of all the producers making big, wobbly bass, Rustie does it with more attention paid to melody and less to being as maximal as possible. It results in some pretty addicting dance music, which you can hear at Output all night along with an opening set from Cashmere Cat.

The Drums, Tamaryn, Kilo Kish (DJ Set) @ Prospect Park
This show is a benefit for the Prospect Park Alliance and tickets are not cheap, but no one’s stopping you from listening from outside while you enjoy the evening in the park. Tamaryn also plays 285 Kent on Friday (7/26).

Highway Gimps, Turnip King, Painted Zeros, Gingerlys @ Saint Vitus Bar
Always wanted to check out Greenpoint club Saint Vitus but notsomuch a metal/punk fan? Tonight is an indie rock line-up featuring the strummy Gingerlys (formerly SDKL) and Sea Cliff, LI’s Turnip King.

Father John Misty, Wild Nothing @ Terminal 5
Father John Misty continues to rise, and he today he graces NYC with his largest headlining show here yet. Support comes from ’80s dream pop worshippers Wild Nothing.

Dawes, Shovels and Rope @ The Capitol Theatre
If the indie folk of Father John Misty is totally your thing, but for whatever reason you’re not at that show tonight, maybe you’re in Port Chester seeing the likeminded show of Dawes and Shovels & Rope.

Lil’ Wayne, T.I., 2 Chainz @ PNC Bank Arts Center
There is not enough purple drank in the world to counteract the trill-ness going down at PNC tonight. Twerk it to radio favorites like “I’m Different,” ‘What You Know” and “Lollipop.”

Seu Jorge @ Blue Note
Brazilian star Seu Jorge — best known in America for singing Portuguese versions of Bowie songs in The Life Aquatic — is here for a week run of intimate shows as Blue Note.

Night Birds, Red Dons, Loose Ends, Easy Rider @ The Alamo
Night Birds’ new album, Born to Die In Suburbia, is the first new thing in a while to remind me of ’90s skate punk bands like NOFX and The Vandals, and still sound totally fresh. They’ve got a bunch of NYC-area shows this month, and tonight they’re in New Brunswick kicking off their Northeast run with their excellent Grave Mistake labelmates Red Dons.

Monkey: Journey to the West @ Lincoln Center
Damon Albarn, Chen Shi-Zheng, and Jamie Hewlett’s musical take on one of China’s most famous tales is part opera, part Cirque du Soleil.

Big Terrific @ Cameo
Max Silvestri hosts this weekly free comedy show that always manages to bring in big names. Tonight: Jim Tews, Kenny DeForest, and Andy Sandford.

More laffs: Janeane Garofalo, Dan Soder, James Goff, and Seth Herzog will be at The Stand tonight, and you can check out our NYC Comedy calendar too.
