Yellow Dogs Memorial/Benefit @ Brooklyn Bowl
To commemorate the Yellow Dogs tragedy and raised money for the victim’s families, Sasan Sadeghpourosko who was wounded in the shooting, and the surviving Yellow Dogs members, this memorial/benefit goes down today at Brooklyn Bowl with performances from Nada Surf, James Chance, Luke Temple, Dirty Fences, Kyp Malone (of TVotR), Helado Negro, Hamish Kilgour (The Clean), Iranian visual artist and activist Shirin Neshat and more; plus DJ sets from Paul Banks (Interpol), Jonathan Toubin, Sinkane, Vito & Druzzi (The Rapture), The Men and more. Flyer below.

Mono, Majeure @ Le Poisson Rouge
Japanese post-rock titans Mono team up with Majeure, the krauty electronic project of Zombi drummer A.E. Paterra, for this excellent double bill of epic atmospheres.

Washed Out, Ghost Beach, Conveyor
Chillwave survivor Washed Out is on to bigger venues like Terminal 5 now, but tonight he returns to NYC for something more intimate. It’s a Converse Rubber Tracks Live show, and it’s free but you did have to get tickets which are now “sold” out.

Absu, Villains, Iron Force @ Saint Vitus
US black metal band Absu bring their eerie, grinding force to NYC tonight and local death/black/thrash openers Villains aren’t too shabby either.

The Rich Hands, Desert Sharks, Crazy Pills @ Death by Audio
San Antonio trio The Rich Hands make sloppy pop that’s not too far off from Nobunny or Hunx. You can stream a track off their forthcoming album, Dreamers, below.

Night Train w/ Wyatt Cenac @ Littlefield
Wyatt Cenac does his weekly Night Train comedy show at Littlefield with guests Jean Grae, Billy Wayne Davis, Desiree Burch, Taylor Ketchum, John Roy, and more.
