You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

A Winged Victory For the Sullen @ Joe’s Pub (early and late)
A Winged Victory for the Sullen, the collaborative ambient duo of Stars of the Lid’s Adam Wiltzie and pianist/composer Dustin O’Halloran, has been in the NYC-area for performances of their new Atomos piece at Montclair State University. Performances on 3/20, 3/21, 3/22 & 3/23 still remain, but before they pick back up, they’ll take a quick break and do two club shows in NYC at Joe’s Pub tonight (7:30 PM & 9:30 PM).

Splashh, Such Hounds, Team Me @ Glasslands
Fresh (or not so fresh) from SXSW, UK band Splashh are here to beam bright, shoegazy vibes. Their second LP is in the can, so expect new tunes tonight.

PINS, Courtship Ritual, Glass Towers @ Pianos
Manchester four-piece PINS are direct descendants of Manc rabble-rousers The Fall (in sneery attitude), with a scratchy dose of C-86 style pop hooks. The band’s debut album came out earlier this month and this is their second of three NYC shows this week.

Liam Finn @ Union Pool
On his forthcoming album, The Nihilist, Finn played 67 instruments! That actually sounds about right, as anyone who’s seen his live shows knows the dude can play anything. And often does! This is the third of his March “Murmuration” residencies.

Da Mafia 6ix, Twisted Insane, Whitney Peyton, Sozay, Alan Winkle, Zeyi, Buckwheat Groats @ The Studio at Webster Hall
While Juicy J (who recently played Irving Plaza) is no longer in Three 6 Mafia, the members continue without him (and without Lord Infamous [RIP]) as Da Mafia 6ix.

Northless, Anicon, Belus, Pharaoh @ Saint Vitus
Badass Milwaukee sludge combo Northless will bring their clanking, creaking horror show to Saint Vitus tonight, and they’ll be joined by an impressive cast of locals, including Anicon, Belus (who will have copies of their recent EP for sale), and recent A389 signees Pharaoh (the NJ sludge band, not the Philly power metal band).

Roseanne Cash
Singing/songwriting veteran Roseanne Cash (daughter of Johnny) has been celebrating the release of her 13th studio album, The River & the Thread, this year, which came out this past January and follows 2009’s The List. Tonight she and her band brings their current tour to NYC.

The Allman Brothers Band @ Beacon Theatre
Pioneers of jam bands, and progenitors of blues and southern rock, The Allman Brothers continue their multi-night run at Beacon Theatre tonight.

The Strypes @ Bowery Ballroom
Irish sensations The Strypes have been playing together for five years but are still in their teens — and sound like mod ’60s soul. Given that description you might not be surprised to learn Paul Weller, Roger Daltrey, Jeff Beck and Noel Gallagher are all fans.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
