Action Bronson, The Lox, French Montana, Funk Flex @ Best Buy Theater
The currently new-and-exciting New York rapper Action Rapper teams with the once new-and-exciting New York rap crew The Lox to co-headline this show tonight. WIth support from French Montana and Funk Flex, it should be a fun night all around.
Dum Dum Girls, Blouse, Young Boys @ MHOW
Having released their poppy Too True earlier this year, Dum Dum Girls’ tour hits NYC this week for two sold-out shows. (This is #2.) Don’t miss openers Blouse who have turned into a formidable live band.
How To Dress Well, Forest Swords, Jefre Cantu-Ledesma @ LPR
R&B singer/songwriter How to Dress Well recently released a new single, “Words I Don’t Remember,” which sounded pretty promising that he only continues to get better. Psychedelic beatmaker Forest Swords opens tonight and he’s worth catching too.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Chad Valley @ Webster Hall
Kitschy Detroit pop duo Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. go the extra mile to make their shows fun. Catch them tonight with UK dance act Chad Valley.
Bambara, Life Size Maps, Butter The Children, Hard Nips, Dead Stars @ Pianos
This is the final week of Life Size Maps’ residency at Pianos and they’ve got a pretty solid line-up of bands, including the shoegazy Butter the Children and ’90s-loving Dead Stars.
Nils Frahm, Douglas Dare @ Glasslands
Berlin-based composer Nils Frahm released Spaces last year Erased Tapes, a collection of minimalist piano pieces, lush synthesizer workouts and other sonically adventurous stuff that melds the classical and electronic-music worlds. He’s playing two shows tonight with his Erased Tapes labelmate Douglas Dare. The early show is sold out but you can still get tickets to the late one.
Peach Kelli Pop, Foster Care, The Foxx, Mannequin Pussy @ Death by Audio
Peach Kelli Pop (aka White Wires drummer Allie Hanlon’s other band) make sugary bubblegum garage confections like on the band’s new single. This is their first of two NYC shows.
NOIA, SVPER @ Cameo Gallery
Barcelona duo SVPER make motorik synthpop that sounds a bit like Broadcast’s Trish Keenan fronting “Electricity”-era Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark.
So Percussion, Buke and Gase @ Merkin Concert Hall
The Ecstatic Music Festival continues tonight with So Percussion (who have collaborate with Dan Deacon and others) teaming up with the experimental pop of NYC duo Buke & Gase.

Diane Cluck @ Rockwood Music Hall
Diane Cluck nails a mix of freak folk and more delicate psychedelic folk, and on this year’s Boneset LP (her first since 2006), she sounds as great as ever. Tonight’s her first of two Rockwood shows this week, both sold out.
Hieroglyphic Being, Jahiliyya Fields, Aurora Halal @ Output’s Panther Room
Chicago DJ Hieroglyphic Being returns to NYC tonight to work the dancefloor of Output’s Panther Room. L.I.E.S.’ Jahiliyya Fields and Mutual Dreaming’s Aurora Halal are on the bill too.
