You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Motion Studies, Fasano, Imperial Topaz, Puppy Cops @ Baby’s All Right
It’s a diverse night of local music at Baby’s tonight with the funky GODMODE-signed Motion Studies, piano singer/songrwriter Fasano, ambient pop duo Imperial Topaz, and Puppy Cops.

James Vincent McMorrow, Aidan Knight @ Bowery Ballroom
James Vincent McMorrow isn’t the most original songwriter (Bon Iver and James Blake seem like obvious influences), but he can write some pretty gorgeous music. Tonight’s his first of three NYC shows this week, all of which are sold out.

Gurus, Future of What, Icewater, Snowday @ Death By Audio
A less noisy night than DbA usually hosts, the rhythm-heavy Gurus (members of Rahim and Your Nature) headline. Icewater, who are also Eleanor Friedberger’s backing band, make lovely guitar-and-synth pop on their own.

London Grammar, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Haerts @ Irving Plaza
London Grammar’s career got a boost when they contributed to the Disclosure LP, but they’re flying pretty high off their solo material as well. We at BV are happy to present tonight’s sold-out NYC show on their current tour.

Laura Mvula, PHOX @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
British singer Laura Mvula makes excellent boundary-pushing pop that’s comparable to Jesse Ware or Janelle Monae. Tonight she plays NYC ahead of her Coachella appearance, and this show is sold out.

Langhorne Slim & The Law, The Felice Brothers, The Districts @ Rough Trade
It’s a triple dose of folk/blues/roots rock at Rough Trade tonight from Langhorne Slim & The Law, The Felice Brothers, and The Districts.

Kristeen Young, Tansu, Baby Teardrops @ The Bowery Electric
Kristeen has a had a regular gig for the last few year’s as Morrissey’s go-to opener. Here’s a chance to see her without some drunk person screaming “HOW SOON IS NOW!!!” in your ear. It’s her first of four April residency shows gearing up for…yet another Morrissey tour.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Parquet Courts @ The Greene Space
This is the first night of the two-night Gigstock, which mixes”showcase-length sets with conversation.” It’s a good double bill tonight too and both groups are sure to be playing new material from their forthcoming albums. Sold out, but you can stream it online.

Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra @ Union Pool
You may know that Thee Silver Mt. Zion share members with Godspeed You! Black Emperor, but post-rock is only a minor element here, not to say it isn’t still epic, gripping music. Tonight’s their last of three NYC shows total this week, and totally sold out.

Mac DeMarco, Amen Dunes, Juan Wauters (of The Beets), Tonstartssbandht @ Webster Hall
With his third album, Salad Days, out now, Mac plays his second sold-out NYC show this week.

Immortal Technique, Brother Ali @ Highline Ballroom
Fellow “conscious” rappers Immortal Technique and Brother Ali bring the tour they’re on together to Highline Ballroom for their first of two NYC shows this week.

Big Terrific Comedy Show @ Cameo Gallery
Max Silvestri hosts the free weekly comedy show in the back of Williamsburg’s Lovin’ Cup. Tonight’s talent includes Mike Cannon, Nick Vatterott, Michelle Wolf, Neal Stastny.
