You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Woods, Woolen Men, Weyes Blood, Cassie Ramone @ Baby’s All Right
Come celebrate the release of Woods’ new album at this Red Bull Sound Select show curated by BrooklynVegan. Also playing: The Woolen Men (in from Portland just for this show), plus Weyes Blood and Cassie Ramone. Plus BV’s Bill Pearis on DJ duty and Marnie the Dog as the evening’s host. If you didn’t RSVP (now closed), you can still come… it’s just $10 ($3 with RSVP). Hope to see you there!

Chris Gethard, Mikey Erg, Shannon O’Neill, Shellshag, Joe Steinhardt, Mal Blum, Eugene Mirman @ Knitting Factory
It’s the release show for Chris Gethard’s My Comedy Album, which comes out today via Don Giovanni, and he’s got a ton of musical and comedic guests joining him, including Mikey Erg (of The Ergs and tons of other bands), Shannon O’Neill, who will reprise her Prison Freaks comedy show for this one night only, local DIY vets (and Don Giovanni labelmates) Shellshag, DG label head Joe Steinhardt (who’s promising quality jokes), singer/songwriter Mal Blum, and comedian/Bob’s Burgers star Eugene Mirman.

The Orb, Blondes @ Highline Ballroom
Dub chillout pioneers The Orb have been providing the soundtrack to some people’s comedown for 25 years now. After becoming known for scheduling and canceling shows, this is their second time through NYC in less than a year.

Modern Rivals, Pretty & Nice, Cultfever, Dentist @ Glasslands
Boston’s Pretty & Nice make the kind of nervy powerpop you used to get in 1979 when XTC and Joe Jackson were bouncing around. Tonight’s show is also the album release party for reverby Brooklyn indie pop band Modern Rivals.

Fanfarlo, Lilies On Mars @ Bowery Ballroom
Fanfarlo continue to move away from the Arcade Fire-isms of their debut into the realm of synthy ’80s pop. Tonight’s the first of two NYC shows on their current tour.

Boy George @ Irving Plaza
The former Culture Club frontman is back with a new album, This is What I Do, he says is inspired by the ’90s baggy scene. He’s bound to hit “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?” and “Karma Chameleon” too.

Elliott Sharp @ BRIC House
NYC experimental music staple Elliott Sharp performs a work for solo electro-acoustic guitar at the BRIC House tonight.

Sam Mickens and the Star Jammers, Cellular Chaos, Softspot, Banned Books @ Death by Audio
The always eccentric and impressive Sam Mickens recently disbanded his Ecstatic Showband & Revue, but he’s not slowing down. Now he’s joined by a new band, The Star Jammers, and they’ll hit DbA tonight.

Landlady, Relatives, The Westerlies @ Shea Stadium
The very prolific Adam Schatz is in many bands, but the alt-pop of Landlady is his main gig. They have a new album coming out this July on Hometapes and are currently in the midst of a residency at Shea, which continues tonight.
