Robyn in Austin in 2012 (more by Tim Griffin)
Robyn

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Robyn, Royksopp @ Pier 97
Ready to do it again? A sonic Scandinavian Reese’s cup, Royksopp and Robin just sound better together.

Heaven’s Gate, Weekends, Advaeta, Bueno, Et Al @ Silent Barn
Heaven’s Gate are due for a new record sometime soon so it seems like a good chance to check in on their hazy rock tonight. Plus: Silent Barn now has a cafe if you’re feeling peckish. Beer and wine too.

Kevin Gates @ Gramercy Theatre
Kevin Gates has a hard-hitting Southern rap flow, but he’s also got genuinely melodic stuff too, with a mix that comes off not unlike aughts-era T.I.

Midnight Masses, Living Days, Riverwild, DJ PreSkool @ Union Pool
Trail of Dead side project Midnight Masses put a new album out this year and they’re currently on a short tour that hits NYC tonight at Union Pool and then again tomorrow at Mercury Lounge.

Nick Hakim, Gabriel Garzón Montano @ Baby’s All Right
Nu-R&B performer Nick Hakim whose new EP, Where Will We Go Pt. 2, will be out in September and who’s played dates with Maxwell, headlines tonight. Also on the bill: Gabriel Garzón Montano, who just recently play PS1 Warm Up.

Friends of Single People w/ Anthony DeVito, Dave Hill, Aparna Nancherla and more @ Littlefield (BK Comedy Fest)
Part of the Brooklyn Comedy Festival, this is “Friends of Single People” where folks get to represent their single friends onstage in a live dating game. Some of those folks include Jo Firestone, Anthony Devito, Dave Hill and more.

Boris Khaykin, Ian Fidance, Sasheer Zamata, U.S. National Improv Team, Sean Patton, Stone Cold Fox, Hello Phones, Trevor Noah @ Glasslands (BK Comedy Fest)
More Brooklyn Comedy Festival, with an early improv show (with SNL’s Sasheer Zamata) and then a late show with South African comic Trevor Noah, Dan Wilbur, and more.

‘Ask Me Another’ w/ Gilbert Gottfried @ Bell House
Another in NPR’s “Ask Me Another” live quiz show tapings, tonight features veteran crank Gilbert Gottried.

Big Terrific Comedy Show @ Cameo Gallery
Max Silvestri hosts the free weekly comedy show in the back of Williamsburg’s Lovin’ Cup. No word on who’s performing tonight, but Max usually lets us know via his Twitter.
