Blake Mills, yMusic @ Le Poisson Rouge
When not working and touring with Fiona Apple, Blake Mills makes his own accomplished blues folk. His new album, Heigh Ho, just came out and tonight’s the release show. It’s sold out, but if you bought a ticket you got a copy of the record as a bonus.

Bryan Ferry, Dawn Landes @ Beacon Theatre
He’s been battling a throat infection which has forced him to cancel a few recent shows, but the onetime Roxy Music singer and still-suave dude will be playing tonight’s show. He’s got a guest-filled album on the way soon.

The Black Lips, King Khan & BBQ Show, LiveFastDie @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
This two-night NYC stand (yesterday at Irving Plaza) sounds like trouble — in a good way. A double-dose of party-friendly garage and soul, get in it.

Jack and Eliza, Larry and the Babes @ Baby’s All Right
If you miss the winsome, early days of Slow Club, this Brooklyn duo make a similarly sweet sound. Tonight’s the release show for their debut EP. Early show, over before 9 PM.

Team Spirit, Sunflower Bean, Bluffing @ Baby’s All Right
Team Spirit, the band fronted by former Passion Pit member Ayad Al Adhamy, finally released their debut album, titled Killing Time, which is out via via Vice/WB. Help them celebrate tonight with up-and-comers Sunflower Bean and Bluffing. You get a free CD with entry. 9 PM doors.

Arrington de Dionyso, Yonatan Gat, Dear Leader @ Death by Audio
Arrington de Dionyso makes “trans-utopian world music for a world that exists in fever dreams and halucinations.” You may also know him from his old band, Old Time Relijun. Also playing: former Monotonix man Yonatan Gat.

Bambara, Dheatd Refuge, Nola Gras, Teen Injection @ Trans-Pecos
Brooklyn’s Bambara sound like their name: loud and pummelling. A little dark too, last year’s Dream Violence mixes gothy shoegaze with a good sense of melody, plus shringy feedback.

The Blow, DJ Dapwell @ Union Pool
This is the first of The Blow’s three Union Pool “unplugged” residency shows. Says Khaela: “These shows are a laboratory for working out new ways of performing electronic music live. We will be performing songs, just songs, from the extended Blow catalog.” Ok then!

Jungle @ Warsaw
Enigmatic when it comes to press shots and music videos, UK dance act Jungle are a seven-or-eight piece band live, more than capable of bringing the grooves to the stage, even if maybe all their songs sound exactly alike.

Tycho, Beacon, Christopher Willits @ Terminal 5
Tycho’s downtempo IDM really comes off more like post-rock live, where they play as a full band and are heavy on the viiiibes, man.

Ed Schrader’s Music Beat, Sex Jams, Honne Wells @ Cake Shop
Baltimore duo Ed Schrader’s Music Beat make rackety post-punk with just a bass and a floor tom, but you’d never think it doesn’t sound full. They always put on a good show.

Delta Spirit, Streets of Laredo @ Bowery Ballroom
The folk rockin’ Delta Spirit put out a new album, Into The Wide, earlier this month and tonight they’re on the second of three nights in NYC in support of it. All three are sold out.

Movement, The Mast, Lemonade (DJ) @ Glasslands
Australian trio Movement offer a moody take on the whole indie/R&B thing going on at the moment. They opened for Banks at Terminal 5 last night but tonight you can catch them in a much more intimate environment.

Balance and Composure, Seahaven, Creepoid @ Irving Plaza
Balance & Composure and Seahaven are the two bigger names on this bill, but if you’re going we especially recommend showing up on time for Creepoid too. The Philly band’s mix of shoegaze and slowcore does a lot of justice to the ’90s bands in that style and they’re good live too.

Living Room, Caravela, Vasudeva, Bethlehem Steel @ Saint Vitus
Tonight Vitus hosts a pretty cool bill of bands that lean towards emo, indie rock or a little bit of both. Living Room, who put out their enjoyable Braid-ish album Moonchaser this past August, are headlining the night.

Big Terrific @ Cameo
Max Silvestri hosts the free weekly comedy show in the back of Williamsburg’s Lovin’ Cup. No word on who’s performing tonight, but Max usually lets us know via his Twitter.
