You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Eleanor Friedberger, Katie Von Schleicher @ Pianos
With a new label and a New View (her first LP for Frenchkiss, due in February), Eleanor Friedberger is playing two small NYC shows this week to give folks a taste of what’s to come. Tonight’s the first.

Mortuary Drape, Revenge, Omnizide, Kill, the Howling Wind @ Saint Vitus (Martyrdoom)
It’s the second to last night of the Martyrdoom festival at Saint Vitus with influential Italian black metal band Mortuary Drape, Canadian war metallers Revenge, and more.

Marina and The Diamonds, Christine and the Queens @ Terminal 5
It’s a double dose of synthpop and “and the”‘s at Terminal 5 tonight and tomorrow. We especially think it’s worth showing up early for Christine and the Queens, whose new album (which features Perfume Genius) is very good.

Buddy Guy, Tom Hambridge @ B.B. King’s
Born in Louisiana but schooled on Chicago Blues as part of Muddy Waters’ band in the ’60s, where he was also a house musician for Chess Records. A true legend.

Joe Budden, Tsu Surf, G Young @ Highline Ballroom
Slaughterhouse’s Joe Budden returned last month with a new solo album, All Love Lost, which features Jadakiss, Marsha Ambrosius and more, and production from Araabmuzik, Boi-1da and more.

Izzy True, Arm Candy, Modern Hut, Trace Mountains @ Silent Barn
This show is headlined by local songwriter Izzy True, who recently signed to Don Giovanni, and also features Don GIovanni head Joe Steinhardt’s Modern Hut project, local punks Arm Candy, and Trace Mountains (Dave from LVL UP).

Whiplash w/ Judd Apatow @ UCB Chelsea
Leo Allen and Aparna Nancherla host UCB’s long-running “Whiplash” which almost always features a few well-known comedians making surprise appearances. Tonight it’s Judd Apatow, who has a big NY Comedy Fest show later in the week, and tonight he promises a “lengthy set.”

Mike Birbiglia @ Union Hall
Mike plays joints about 30 times bigger than Union Hall these days, but he continues try new material at these “Working it Out” shows. Sold out, natch.

Michael Ian Black, Josh Gondelman @ Union Hall
After Birbiglia’s show, it’s another high-profile comedian: Michael Ian Black of The State and Wet Hot American Summer. Also sold out.

Night Train with Wyatt Cenac @ Littlefield
All aboard Wyatt Cenac’s weekly comedy cavalcade featuring Ian Abramson, Langston Kerman, Matthew Broussard, Shalewa Sharpe, Andrew Michaan, and Sonia Denis.

Ask Me Another w/ host Faith Salie, feat. Taran Killam from SNL @ The Bell House
Another in NPR’s “Ask Me Another” live quiz show tapings, tonight features SNL’s Taran Killam.
