You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Steve Gunn, Meg Baird & Mary Lattimore @ Bowery Ballroom
A supremely talented musician, great songwriter and singer, Gunn avoids flash, choosing not draw attention to himself, but continues to be one of the savviest, classiest makers of guitar-based music around, Tonight he celebrates the release of his terrific new album, The Unseen In Between.

Amen Dunes, Arthur @ Warsaw
Amen Dunes released one of the best albums of last year with Freedom, which saw him branching out from his psychedelic beginnings towards something bigger and cleaner and more hook-oriented than ever. It also helped make him more popular than ever — tonight’s show is sold out.

Ted Leo, Slingshot Dakota, Supernatural Psycho @ Brooklyn Bazaar
Ted Leo is a true indie rock lifer, with countless great songs to pull from, and his shows are a killer time whether he has a new album to support or not. His latest is 2017’s The Hanged Man.

Kirk Knight, Dessy Hinds @ Rough Trade
Pro Era’s Kirk Knight released his new album IIWII last year and he celebrates with a hometown release show tonight. It’s a much smaller stage than the NYC show he plays this spring: Governors Ball.

ZyanosE, Hank Wood and the Hammerheads, Frenzy, Extended Hell, Flower @ Saint Vitus
Japanese punks ZyanosE are finally back in the US and hitting Vitus tonight with killer local support from Hank Wood and the Hammerheads, who released one of our favorite punk albums of last year.

Dave Harrington and Kenny Wollesen duo; Dave Harrington with Andrew Fox, Greg Fox & Devin Hoff @ Threes Brewing
Dave Harrington is in the midst of his five-show run at Threes Brewing to support his new Dave Harrington Group album, and he’s playing two sets a night with different lineups during each set.

Bettye LaVette @ Iridium
Last year the great Betty LaVette released Things Have Changed last year where she successfully refashioned Bob Dylan songs into her own soulful style. One of the greats.

Ice Balloons, Sad White Guyz, Beech Creeps, Eaters @ Coney Island Baby
TV on the Radio’s Kyp Malone has a bunch of side projects, but none more fun that Ice Balloons where he really lets his freak flag fly. Tonight’s a celebration for their new 7″ and have put together a great bill that includes art-damaged punks Beech Creeps and electronic duo Eaters.

‘You Had To Be There’ with Dave Hill, Jim Biederman, Jodi Lennon @ QED
“Comedian Dave Hill gives his first person account of different periods throughout history while Jim Biederman and Jodi Lennon call bullshit on most of what he’s saying.”

Darren Jesse, Lowpines @ Rockwood Music Hall
You might know Darren Jesse as drummer for Ben Folds Five, but he’s a very talented all-around musician, singer and songwriter. Catch him tonight with the hushed folk of Lowpines.
