Miracle Legion at Bell House

What's going on Friday?

Miracle Legion at Bell House

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Miracle Legion, Elvis Perkins @ Bowery Ballroom
One of the best indie rock bands to pop up in REM’s jangly wake, Miracle Legion are back together and sound as good as ever.

Ruff Ryders reunion w/ DMX, Eve, The LOX, Swizz Beats, Drag-On @ Barclays Center
The Ruff Ryders crew was pretty unstoppable in the late ’90s and early ’00s, and now they’re all joining forces once again for some reunion shows. They do two in NYC tonight, first at the massive Barclays Center and then…

Ruff Ryders afterparty @ BB King’s
…an afterparty at the MUCH smaller BB King’s.

Gorillaz Spirit House
A kinda neat bit of marketing for both Gorillaz’s new album Humanz and SONOS’ Playbase speaker, Spirit House is full of Gorillaz memorabilia and some tricked out speakers. RSVP is closed but might be worth a shot swinging by anyway.

Katatonia, Caspian, Uncured @ Irving Plaza
Swedish prog metal vets Katatonia are on the road in support of last year’s The Fall of Hearts, and direct support comes from the great heavy post-rockers Caspian.

Matt Pryor (of The Get Up Kids), Dan Andriano (of Alkaline Trio) @ Saint Vitus
Get Up Kids co-frontman Matt Pryor and Alkaline Trio co-frontman Dan Andriano both lead quality solo careers, and they’re currently on the road together playing songs from those careers. You might hear some songs by their main bands too.

Gouge Away, Ache, Capacities, Sick Shit, Ides @ Goldsounds
Florida hardcore newcomers Gouge Away made a huge mark on the genre last year with their powerful debut , Dies. Having just opened for Paint It Black in Philly last night, they’re in NYC tonight for a headlining gig.

The Coathangers, Daisy Glaze, Residuels @ Baby’s All Right
Atlanta garage punks The Coathangers are back out on the road, and tonight they wrap up a two-night stand in NYC.

PAWS, Bears, Thick @ The Studio at Webster Hall
Glasgow fuzz rockers are on tour in continued support of last year’s Mark Hoppus-produced No Grace.

Asbury Park Music & Film Festival
The third annual Asbury Park Music & Film Festival is underway, today with performances from Mike & The Mechanics, the premiere of documentary Just Before the Dawn (about storied Asbury Park club Upstage) and more.

Paul Shaffer & the World’s Most Dangerous Band w/ “surprise guest vocalist” @ Wellmont Theatre
We have no idea who the surprise guest vocalist is tonight, but we do know that Paul Shaffer & the World’s Most Dangerous Band recently released a guest-filled album and the latest single is the Bill Murray collaboration, which comes out as a 7″ this weekend for Record Store Day.

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.
