What's going on Friday?

The Feelies
The Feelies at Monty Hall in 2015 (more by PSquared)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

The Feelies @ Rough Trade
With a tough, jangly sound that is as engrained in NYC as that black dust that collects on your windows, The Feelies never go out of style. With a great new album, In Between, out this year, the band are playing a weekend’s worth of shows at Rough Trade. No openers: two sets each night.

Father John Misty, Adam Green @ Brooklyn Steel
Opinions are split on FJM’s sprawling new album Pure Comedy, but its hard to deny his charms as a live performer. This the last of three sold-out NYC shows this week which feature a string section and a killer light show. He’ll be back in the area again later this year.

Wavves, Post Animal @ Bowery Ballroom
Wavves is about to release a new album next week, which a handful of songs are out from now. First, they play two NYC shows this weekend. This is night 1.

Breanna Barbara, Anya Marina, PONY, Fiona Silver @ KGB Red Room
This Planned Parenthood benefit includes dark blues singer Breanna Barbara, indie singer/songwriter Anya Marina, and more.

Dan Auerbach @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach is releasing a new solo album in June, and it seems likely that he’ll debut some new stuff at tonight’s intimate show. It’s not surprisingly sold out, but if you don’t have tickets, you can stream it live on SiriusXM.

Iron Chic, Dead Heavens, Earworms, MakeWar @ Saint Vitus
Long Island punk staples Iron Chic are back in Brooklyn tonight, taking the Saint Vitus stage right after hardcore legend Walter Schreifels’ band Dead Heavens.

Incendiary, Crime in Stereo, King Nine, Trail of Lies @ Brooklyn Bazaar
Incendiary have been staples of LIHC for a few years now, and this is the release show for their new album Thousand Mile Stare. Longer-running melodic LIHC band Crime In Stereo opens.

Bang, Eternal Black @ Goldsounds
’70s-era US doom band Bang continue their reunion with a small Brooklyn show tonight.

Roy Ayers, Amp Fiddler, Monk One @ Output
What’s becoming an annual tradition the R&B/jazz vibemaster will play a sunset rooftop set on top of Williamsburg club Output. Everybody loves the sunshine.

Colin Stetson, Justin Walter @ Baby’s All Right
Saxophonist extraordinaire Colin Stetson, who plays with Arcade Fire regularly, released new album All This I Do For Glory last month and will bring his horn and awesome breath control to babies tonight.

TEEN, Zula, Softspot @ Sunnyvale
Brooklyn artpop band TEEN will begin work on their new album soon and say this will be their last live show till they make it to the other side of the record.

Weed, Bugg, Silk Sign, RIPS @ Trans-Pecos
RIPS are in the fine tradition of wiry indie rock as The Feelies, Television and Parquet Courts (whose Austin Brown produced the band’s upcoming debut LP).
