Sasquatch 2017 - Friday
LCD Soundsystem at Sasquatch 2017 (more by Matthew Lamb)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

LCD Soundsystem @ Brooklyn Steel
It feels like it was just April when LCD Soundsytem were playing a sold-out, multi-night run at Brooklyn Steel…oh wait, it WAS just April. With the new album in the can, maybe we’ll get even more new songs. It should be a dance party nonetheless.

Lorde @ Bowery Ballroom
Lorde’s sophomore album Melodrama comes out today. In celebration of its release, she’s playing this VERY intimate show that you had to enter a sweepstakes to get into.

Hall and Oates, Tears for Fears @ Forest Hills Stadium
This double bill still feels a bit strange, though both bands did hit their zeinith in the ’80s, but there’s no denying all the hits we’ll get.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Joe Walsh @ Prudential Center
Tom Petty & the Heartbeakers have countless jams, and they remain at the top of their game. Their latest album, 2014’s Hypnotic Eye, was not bad at all. The live show is really where it’s at though. They play NJ tonight and two NYC shows in July.

Deerhoof @ The Bell House
Deerhoof are warming up for a run of shows opening for Red Hot Chili Peppers with these shows tonight.

Dead Heavens, Hideout, Simon Doom @ Union Pool
Walter Schreifels remains one of the best musicians post-hardcore has to offer. Even in 2017, his gigs with Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today can be life-changing. Walter doesn’t stick to nostalgia though. Dead Heavens is one of two newer bands he fronts, and they release their psych-rockin’ debut album Whatever Witch You Are today.

Buke and Gase, Fusilier, Greg Fox @ Baby’s All Right
Experimental pop duo Buke and Gase will be previewing song from their next album at this show tonight.

Roya, Breanna Barbara, Scully, Blush @ Brooklyn Night Bazaar
Brooklyn garage pop band Roya, which features members of Habibi, Grooms, Golden Triangle and more, celebrate the release of the debut album tonight. All the openers are worth catching too.

Daniel Romano, American Trappist @ Knitting Factory Brooklyn
The hard-to-classify songwriter Daniel Romano returned this year with the new album Mosey, an album with hints of punk, psychedelia, folk, and more.

Method Man & Redman, Mic Handz & Rockness Monsta, DJ Kool Flash, Termanology, Mad Squabz, DJ Doo Wop @ Starland Ballroom
Having just given a show-stopping performance as part of Wu-Tang Clan at NYC’s Governors Ball, Wu-Tang’s most charismatic rapper Method Man is now touring with his old pal Redman (who showed up at that GovBall set). Tonight should be fun.

Dawes @ The Capitol Theatre
Last year, folk rockers Dawes released their new album We’re All Gonna Die. Tonight they play the Cap, billed as “An Evening with Dawes.”

Nothing, Souvenirs, neaux @ BSP
Heavy shoegazers Nothing and emo revivalists Souvenirs have been touring with AFI, but tonight they’re playing a smaller show on their own. Opening is neaux, the shoegaze band of former Warped Tourer Sierra Kay.
