Boston Calling 2018 - Sunday
Dirty Projectors at Boston Calling 2018 (more by Chelsea Pineda)

What's going on Monday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Sonic Youth: 30 Years of Daydream Nation (film screening/Q&A) @ Alamo Drafthouse (two shows)
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Sonic Youth’s groundbreaking Daydream Nation, Lance Bangs is screening his new Daydream Nation at Alamo Drafthouse at 4:30 and 9:30, alongside Q&As with Lance, SY members Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley, and photographer Michael Lavine. They’re also screening the SY edit of Charles Atlas’ 1989 film Put Blood in the Music, which focuses on the 1980s NYC downtown music scene.

Pixies (Come On Pilgrim… It’s Surfer Rosa) @ Brooklyn Steel
As the name says, Pixies will be playing their classic debut mini-LP Come On Pilgrim and their classic debut full-length Surfer Rosa in full at this show (and more). This is night two of a three-night run at Brooklyn Steel.

Bob Weir & Wolf Bros @ Beacon Theatre
Bob Weir’s new trio Wolf Bros (Bobby plus Jay Lane and Don Was) are on the road re-imagining Grateful Dead classics in a stripped-down setting. This is their second of two Beacon Theatre shows.

Dirty Projectors, Lower Dens @ Elsewhere
Quirky pop lifers Dirty Projectors returned this year with their solid new album Lamp Lit Promise, and tonight they wrap up a two-night stand at Elsewhere with dream pop staples Lower Dens.

Fenster, Greg Fox Trio, Erica Eso @ Trans-Pecos
Berlin based band Fenster released their terrific album The Room back in September, which found them embracing electronics even more than before but still sounding utterly human. Tonight’s whole bill is pretty interesting with Greg Fox, and art pop ensemble Erica Eso.

Witchcraft @ Le Poisson Rouge
Swedish doomy hard rockers haven’t played the U.S. in a decade but that changes tonight. This is just one of two U.S. shows for the band (the other is in Boston on Wednesday).
UPDATE: Witchcraft’s shows were cancelled due to “serious illness”.

City Morgue @ Saint Vitus
City Morgue is the duo of NYC rappers ZillaKami and SosMula, who mix rap, punk, metal, and horror and come out with something truly shocking and confrontational that’s impossible to turn away from. They recently released their debut mixtape CITY MORGUE VOL 1: HELL OR HIGH WATER.

Cruel Hand, Take Offense, Blind Justice, Mindforce, No Idea, Nerveshatter @ The Kingsland
The Kingsland hosts a night of crushing hardcore bands. This one’s bound to get nuts.

Diane Cluck @ Rockwood Music Hall
Singer/songwriter Diane Cluck is armed with a fairly large arsenal of very unique songs, and her live show is always captivating. This is her second of two Rockwood Music Hall shows this week.

‘Butterboy with Jo, Aparna and Maeve’ ft. Beth Stelling, Ophira Eisenberg, Jess Salomon, Dan Wilbur, Mamoudou N’Diaye, Malic White @ Littlefield
Joe Firestone, Aparna Nancherla, and Maeve Higgins return to Littlefield for their weekly comedy show ‘Butterboy.’
