What's going on Monday?

Radiohead at Madison Square Garden
Thom Yorke with Radiohead at MSG in July (more by Toby Tenenbaum)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Thom Yorke, Oliver Coates @ Kings Theatre
Thom Yorke recently released his score to the new Suspiria remake, which also includes a handful of songs that stand on their own as great Thom Yorke songs. He’ll presumably mix things up between those songs and plenty of classics tonight and tomorrow at Kings Theatre. The shows have support from Radiohead collaborator Oliver Coates, who’s also a great artist in his own right.

Bob Dylan and His Band @ Beacon Theatre
Bob Dylan needs no introduction, and it’s truly a treat that he still performs as frequently as he does over half a century into his career. This is night three of his seven-show Beacon Theatre run.

Pusha T, Phony Ppl @ Irving Plaza
Pusha T’s been one of the greats for a while, but 2018 has been the most monumental year for his career in a while thanks to the release of DAYTONA, one of the year’s best and most loved rap albums. He’s on tour now with genre-defying band Phony Ppl, who blend hip hop, soul, jazz, funk, rock, and more, and who released the very good mozaik this year. This is their second of two Irving Plaza shows.

Freddie Gibbs, G Perico @ Highline Ballroom
Gangsta rap true believer Freddie Gibbs has been having a great, prolific year, which included the release of his Freddie mixtape and his collaborative project with Curren$y and The Alchemist (both of which are worth hearing). He’s on tour now with G-Funk revivalist G Perico, which is a great double bill.

Amine, Buddy, Kayo Genesis @ Brooklyn Steel
Portland rapper Amine instantly took off when the video for his 2016 single “Caroline” started racking up views like crazy, and his super fun 2017 debut album Good For You proved he had more magic where that came from. He quickly followed it this year with the also-good ONEPOINTFIVE, and now he’s on tour with Compton rapper/singer Buddy, whose very strong debut album Harlan & Alondra came out earlier this year.

Raven, Hatchet, Mobile Death Camp @ The Kingsland
British heavy metal legends Raven have been going strong since the ’70s, still led by the original core duo of John and Mark Gallagher. Their latest album came out in 2015, but tonight will presumably be mostly about the classics.

EVA, Sir Babygirl, Grace Ives @ Baby’s All Right
Even if you aren’t familiar with EVA by name, you may have seen her showing off her powerful pipes on stage as a member of Blood Orange. She plays a headlining Brooklyn show tonight with direct support from rising alt-pop singer Sir Babygirl, whose promising debut album Crush On Me comes out in February via Father/Daughter.

Pinegrove @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Pinegrove recently returned from a hiatus they went on after frontman Evan Stephens Hall issued a statement saying he had been accused of sexual coercion and apologizing for it. They released a new album Skylight and now they’re playing some shows, including sold-out nights at MHOW tonight and tomorrow.

Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin (performing live score to SUSPIRIA) @ Le Poisson Rouge
While Luca Guadagnino’s remake is in theaters now, you can see Dario Argento’s original horror classic Suspiria with Claudio Simonetti’s lineup of Goblin performing their classic, phantasmagoric score live to the film.

Andy Shauf @ National Sawdust
Canadian singer/songwriter Andy Shauf releases his debut album with his group Foxwarren soon but plays this solo show tonight.

Ilana Glazer @ Union Hall
While we wait for the final season of Broad City, co-creator Ilana Glazer is doing four nights of “Ilana Glazer & Friends” shows at Union Hall.

Doug Loves Movies @ Gramercy Theatre
Doug Benson’s popular podcast gets in the holiday spirit with two nights of “12 Guests of Xmas” shows.

Butterboy Comedy @ Littlefield
Maeve Higgins hosts solo tonight with guests Dulce Sloan (The Daily Show), Negin Farsad (Fake The Nation), Jacob Williams (Late Show With Stephen Colbert), Joe Rumrill (Fresh Perspectives), Sara Hennessey (Montreal Comedy Festival), Chris Daniels (Detroit Comedy Festival)
