Stars at Lollapalooza 2018 (more by James Richards IV)

What's going on Monday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Stars, My Brightest Diamond @ Brooklyn Steel
Stars followed 2017’s There Is No Love is Fluorescent Light with a couple new singles this year, and they’re on the road doing a pretty solid mix of the new stuff and the classics. Opening is My Brightest Diamond, who’s fresh off releasing her danciest album yet, A Million and One.

Kimbra, DAWN @ Murmrr Theatre
Kimbra is on tour doing shows she describes as “an intimate, reimagined evening,” and support comes from experimental R&B great DAWN, who recently announced a new album for January. This is the second of two Murmurr Theatre shows on this tour.

Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers @ Madison Square Garden
Mumford and Sons recently released Delta, which is sort of a return to folk rock after the more atmospheric arena rock of Wilder Mind. They’re as big as ever, and playing MSG tonight and tomorrow. Opening is Maggie Rogers, who also continues to get very popular.

DonMonique, Connie Diiamond, DJ Hu Dat @ Mercury Lounge
Brooklyn rapper sorta went quiet after releasing her promising 2015 debut EP Thirst Trap, but she recently returned with Black Kate Moss, which proves that her bassy, menacing delivery is still a force to be reckoned with.

ARC ‘Rent Party’ w/ Laurie Anderson, Fred Schneider, Jellybean Benitez, Hank Shocklee (DJ Sets) @ 99 Scott Ave
The ARChive of Contemporary Music‘s annual Holiday Record + CD Sale is underway and they’re aiming to raise a little extra money with this old-fashioned “rent party” featuring a pretty amazing lineup of DJs.

‘Butterboy with Jo, Aparna and Maeve’ ft. Naomi Ekperigin, Nore Davis, Meaghan Strickland, Will Martin, Charla Lauriston, Matt Jenkins @ Littlefield
Jo Firestone, Aparna Nancherla, and Maeve Higgins are back at Littlefield for their weekly ‘Butterboy’ comedy show, and tonight’s guests include Naomi Ekperigin, Nore Davis, Meaghan Strickland, Will Martin, Charla Lauriston, and Matt Jenkins.
