What's going on Monday?

The Natvral
The Natvral

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Taking Back Sunday @ Irving Plaza
Having just played their annual holiday shows at NJ’s Starland Ballroom, Taking Back Sunday now play this last-minute small NYC show where they’ll perform their first three albums start to finish.

Ed Askew Band, Dark Tea, Jemez @ The Glove
Psych-folk legend Ed Askew has music dating back to the late ’60s and he’s still active today. It’s a real treat that he plays as often as he does, and any chance to catch him is worth taking.

The Natvral, Honey Cut, Nicole Yun (of Eternal Summers), Tallies @ Baby’s All Right
It’s the Kanine Records Holiday Party that features both The Natvral (aka Kip Berman or Pains of Being Pure at Heart) and Nicole Yun (Eternal Summers) making their live debuts with backing bands, plus Canadian band Tallies, and Honey Cut. There’s a hosted open bar from 8-9 PM, BV’s Bill Pearis is one of the front room DJs, and it’s free.

Los Lobos @ City Winery NYC
It’s an annual holiday tradition and L.A. greats Los Lobos wrap up this year’s City Winery run this evening.

Midge Ure @ Iridium
Armed with a string of Ultravox and solo classics, Midge Ure and band play their first of two nights at Iridium tonight. It being the holidays, you might even hear Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” which he co-wrote.

Ask Me Another with VIP guests Jay Pharoah and Adam Pally @ The Bell House
Ophira Eisenberg’s witty NPR’s witty gameshow welcomes former SNL cast member Jay Pharoah and comedian Adam Pally to play “Ask Me Another.”

Butterboy Comedy @ Littlefield
After months away Aparna Nancherla is back at Butterboy, making this the first edition with all three hosts (along with Jo Firestone and Maeve Higgins) in ages. They’ll welcome guests Dan Soder (Netflix: The Standups), Sydnee Washington (Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks), Paris Sashay (Montreal Comedy Festival), Miguel Dalmau (Gotham Comedy Live), Jeff Scheen (Bridgetown Comedy Festival), and Meredith Casey (Funny Women Festival).
