You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Metric, Zoe, July Talk @ Kings Theatre
Canadian indie vets Metric released their seventh album, Art of Doubt, last year and will bring their brand of synthy, danceable rock to one of Brooklyn’s loveliest venues.

Tim Hecker, Konoyo Ensemble @ National Sawdust
Ambient musician Tim Hecker released Koyoyo last year and has Anoyo on the way, both of which were influenced by and made in Japan. This show will “feature traditional Japanese Gagaku musicians on the shō, ryuteki and hichiriki in synergy with his own explorations of noise, dissonance, and melody, creating a hybrid of electronic abstraction and otherworldly minimalism, alternately heavy and gentle.”

John Doe (of X) @ City Winery
John will soon be on tour as part of Flesh Eaters’ reunion but plays solo tonight, drawing from his deep well of great songs.

Butterboy Comedy @ Littlefield
Aparna Nancherla is away tonight, but Maeve and Jo are here and welcome funny guests Jackie Kashian (HBO’s 2 Dope Queens, Conan), Langston Kerman (HBO’s Insecure, Comedy Bang! Bang!), Brooke Van Poppelen (@Midnight, Hack My Life), Molly Austin (Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks), Dan Perlman (Montreal Comedy Festival), and Tom Delgado (Comedy Central).
