The National’s new album is out next month and tonight present “A Special Evening With” show that includes a screening of Mike Mills’ film “I Am Easy To Find,” Q&A with the band, and an intimate performance with special guests Kate Stables of This Is The Kit, Mina Tindle, Yuki Numata Resnick, James McAlister, and Brooklyn Youth Chorus.
Acid Mothers Temple, Yamantaka//Sonic Titan @ Mercury Lounge
Japanese psych rock greats Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O., who recently revamped lineup for the first time in years, are currently on their regular spring pilgrimage to North America, out this time with Canada’s Yamantaka//Sonic Titan. This is their final of three NYC-area shows.
Anna of the North, Conner Youngblood @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Norwegian indie pop artist Anna of the North just followed her 2017 debut album Lovers with the new single “Leaning On Myself, and is on her first North American Tour.

Aparna and Maeve host Butterboy tonight and welcome Shane Torres (Conan, Comedy Central Presents), Loyiso Gola (Netflix Comedians Of The World Comedy Special), Sonia Denis (This Week At The Comedy Cellar), Casey James Salengo (Comedy Central Presents), JC Coccoli (Last Comic Standing), Joanna Briley (Black Women In Comedy Festival), and Hannah Einbinder (SF Sketchfest).
Mingus Big Band: 97th Charles Mingus Birthday Celebration @ Jazz Standard
Jazz Standard’s annual birth celebration of Mingus with the 14-piece group led by artistic director Sue Mingus.
Tink @ S.O.B.’s
Illinois rapper/singer Tink first came to prominence a few years ago with her brand of personal, R&B-tinged hip hop, and she’ll hopefully bring some of her biggest tracks to S.O.B.’s tonight, including “Treat Me Like Somebody,” “Bad Side,” and more.
Gunna, Shy Glizzy @ Irving Plaza
Georgia-based rapper and Young Thug associate Gunna is touring behind his debut album Drip or Drown 2, which dropped back in February. His latest stop is at Irving Plaza tonight, where he’ll be joined by 300 labelmate Shy Glizzy.
Honeyblood, Lizzie Loveless, Navy Gangs @ Baby’s All Right
Glasgow’s Honeyblood, which is currently primarily singer-guitarist Stina Tweeddale, has a new John Congleton-produced album on the way in May.
