What's going on Monday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Sunn O))) @ Saint Vitus Bar
Having just played Brooklyn Steel earlier this week, drone metal greats Sunn O))) return to NYC for this far more intimate show behind their great, Steve Albini-produced LP Life Metal. How much do you like smoke machines?

RosalÌa, Serpentwithfeet @ Webster Hall
Genre-defying flamenco/pop/R&B singer Rosalía caught many people’s attention last year with the great El Mal Querer, and she’ll visit NYC for two consecutive sold-out nights at Webster Hall, which kick off the 2019 Red Bull Music Festival.

Foxing, Now, Now, Daddy Issues @ Asbury Lanes
Foxing are still riding high off the release of their great 2018 album Nearer My God, which was their most ambitious and genre-defying album yet. Their live show is also exceptional in a different way than their albums, so it’s exciting that they’re back in the NYC area tonight, especially with quality co-headliners Now, Now and openers Daddy Issues.

Trey Anastasio Band @ Brooklyn Bowl
Phish frontman Trey Anastasio has been keeping busy in 2019, having released his new solo LP Ghosts of the Forest earlier this month. Tonight’s NYC stop marks his band’s second of two nights at Brooklyn Bowl.

Hot Chip @ Elsewhere
Ahead of the release of their first LP in three years, A Bathful of Ecstasy, Hot Chip will play several US dates in the spring, beginning with this intimate stop at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere.

Bruce Hornsby @ National Sawdust
’80s Lite FM balladeer (and onetime Grateful Dead member) Bruce Hornsby has been in the process of reinventing himself as an indie rock-approved artist, partially thanks to Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon who’s collaborated with him a few times over the past few years and contributed to his new album Absolute Zero (alongside Vernon associates Brad Cook, S. Carey, Rob Moose, The Staves and yMusic). Hornsby brings his new songs to Williamsburg venue National Sawdust tonight and tomorrow.

Träd, Gräs och Stenar, Chris Forsyth & the Solar Motel Band @ Rough Trade
Swedish prog rock band Träd, Gräs Och Stenar only existed in their original incarnation from 1969 to 1972, but have reformed a few times over the years. The current incarnation of the band is led by Jakob Sjöholm (who joined in 1970) and also includes Reine Fiske of Dungen and The Amazing.

Butterboy Comedy @ Littlefield
Aparna Nancherla and Jo Firestone host their weekly Butterboy Comedy show at Littlefield, with guests Natasha Vaynblat (UCB Comedy Originals), Caleb Synan (Conan, Last Comic Standing), Peter Smith (Comedy Central Up Next), Kwasi Mensah (Laughing Liberally Boston), Julia Johns (someecards, MTV’s Girlcode), and Wendy Steiner (NC Comedy Festival).
