What's going on Monday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Black Sabbath Cover Band Rehearsal @ Saint Vitus Bar
This isn’t your average Black Sabbath cover band, and features Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner, solo artist and ex-Dirty Projector Angel Deradoorian, Krallice’s Mick Barr, Interpol touring bassist Brad Traux, !!!/Holy Ghost drummer Chris Egan, and Liturgy/Uniform/etc drummer Greg Fox, and they really do a lot of justice to these songs. The band first played as part of Bon Iver & Aaron Dessner’s PEOPLE festival in Berlin. and had so much fun they’ve kept doing occasional shows since.

The Faint, Ritual Howls, Closeness @ Bowery Ballroom
The Faint released their first album in half a decade, Egowerk, earlier this year, which finds them still in command of that gothy synthpunk sound. They’ll stop at Bowery Ballroom for a two-night stand, with both shows being opened by The Faint/Azure Ray offshoot CLOSENESS, and Detroit band Ritual Howls.

The Wallflowers @ City Winery
Alt-rockers The Wallflowers have kept going lost past their ’90s hitmaking era, and they play tonight and tomorrow as part of City Winery’s last week on Varick St before the venue moves to Pier 57 next year.

Butterboy Comedy @ Littlefield
Hosts Aparna Nancherla and Joyelle Nicole Johnson are on hand for tonight’s weekly Butterboy Comedy show, which features guests Phoebe Robinson (2 Dope Queens), Maria Heinegg (@Midnight, Last Call With Carson Daly), Reggie Conquest (Trutv’s Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks), Tom Thakkar (Comedy Central Stand-Up), and Christina Galston (Comedy Central’s Up Next).
