What's going on Monday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

1349, Uada, Cloak @ Saint Vitus
Saint Vitus hosts a pretty amazing triple black metal bill tonight, with Season of Mist labelmates 1349 and Cloak who are both riding off recent new album releases, and Uada who put out one of last year’s best metal albums.

Loving, Squirrel Flower @ Baby’s All Right
Victoria, BC’s Loving make a kind of soft rock revival that’s not unlike Whitney, and they’re gearing up to release their debut album on Last Gang in 2020. They’re now on tour with new Polyvinyl signee Squirrel Flower, a ’90s-style indie rocker whose set is not to miss.

Jeffrey Lewis (& the Voltage), Cassandra Jenkins, Caged Animals @ Rough Trade
NYC songwriter Jeffrey Lewis may have risen out of the 2000s anti-folk scene, but on his upcoming LP Bad Wiring – recorded with his band The Voltage — sees him reaching into a more Yo La Tengo indie rock direction.

Davila 666, Tall Juan (DJ Set) @ The Bowery Electric
Puerto Rico-based punks Davilla 666 haven’t released an LP since 2011’s Tan Bajo, but the band has teased an upcoming LP in some interviews, so maybe they’ll play some new material at this Bowery Electric show.

Butterboy Comedy @ Littlefield
Aparna, Jo and Maeve are all hosting tonight’s Butterboy Comedy show, featuring guests Larry Owens (A Strange Loop, TruTV), Irene Tu (Comedy Central’s Clusterfest, Sf Sketchfest), Brittany Carney (New York Comedy Festival), Ella Gale (Reductress, Moontower Comedy Festival), and Graham Kay (Late Show With Stephen Colbert).
