Rostam Hamilton Leithauser

What's going on Monday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Hamilton Leithauser & Rostam @ Rough Trade
Hamilton Leithauser is best known for fronting The Walkmen (who are on hiatus) and Rostam is best known as a Vampire Weekend member (though he recently left the band). Now, they’ve teamed up for a collaborative album which is pretty good stuff and should appeal to fans of both bands. Tonight’s show is sold out.

Crowbar, White Widows Pact, Godmaker @ Saint Vitus Bar
Not too many bands excel at sludge like NOLA greats Crowbar, who will release The Serpent Only Lies in October. Hopefully they’ll play us some new songs tonight, ahead of its release.

Adele @ MSG
Adele’s music brings people of all ages together like few popular singers do right now. For six nights this week, she’ll do just that at Madison Square Garden. The run wraps up tonight.

Brian Fallon and the Crowes, Ryan Bingham, Paul Cauthen @ Terminal 5
The Gaslight Anthem are taking a bit of a break, but frontman Brian Fallon returned earlier this year with his solo LP Painkillers, which isn’t a million miles away from his main band. He’s currently on a co-headining tour with Ryan Bingham.

Pete Rock & CL Smooth @ BB King’s
Hip hop production legend Pete Rock’s collaborations with CL Smooth in the early ’90s left a major mark on how rap has sounded since. Tonight you can… reminisce over them…

Trentemoller @ (le) poisson rouge
Danish electronic musician Trentemøller’s new studio album, Fixion, unites the visceral thump of Trentemøller in full-band mode with the cinematic melancholy of his earlier work. This is the release show.

Dale Watson @ Hill Country BBQ
Dale Watson is known as “Austin’s answer to Johnny Cash“ which is an apt comparison, with his a deep resonant voice, honky-tonk sound, and an abundance of truck-drivin’ songs.

Mitchell @ Rockwood Music Hall
Anais Mitchell is perhaps best known as a Justin Vernon collaborator, including on Bon Iver’s recent Fallon performance, but she’s a great artist in her own right as well. Tonight’s the final show in her September residency at Rockwood Music Hall.

Night Train with Guest Host Jean Grae @ Littlefield
Jean Grae fills in for regular Night Train host Wyatt Cenac, and welcomes guests Phoebe Robinson, Naomi Ekperigin, Adam Cayton-Holland, Abby Rosenquist, Zach Reinert, and more.
