Sloan @ Bowery Ballroom
Canadian greats Sloan are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their best album, the ’60s-inspired One Chord to Another, on their current tour. They’ll play the whole thing then come back for a second set of favorites from the rest of their terrific catalog.
Montero, Guy Blackman @ Baby’s All Right
Australian act Montero make psych pop that’s not too far away from Tame Impala or MGMT (and a couple of the latter are in the live band tonight). Guy Blackman, who plays keyboards in Montero, opens the night with a set of his own songs.
The Hum @ Manhattan Inn
HYPNOCRAFT’s collaborative Monday night series The Hum returns and tonight with featuring sets from Emmy the Great + Jo Lampert (tUnE-yArDs) + Margot, as well as Allison Miller (Boom Tic Boom) + Domenica Fossati (Underground System) + Kendra Morris, and also Melodie Stancato (Swoon Lake) + Sarah Kinlaw (SOFTSPOT) + Shannon Lee (Teen Body). Shovels and Rope, Matthew Logan Vasquez @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
All the way from Johns Island, SC, indie country couple Carrie Ann Heart and Michael Trent stomp and holler as Shovels and Rope, who play tonight with Delta Spirit’s Matthew Logan Vasquez.

South African hip hop eccentrics bring the weird tonight.
Regina Spektor @ Town hall
Regina’s new album, Remember Us to Life, which came out a couple weeks ago, is her first since Orange is the New Black made her voice recognizable to a lot more people. She celebrates it’s release tonight.
Night Train w/ Wyatt Cenac @ Littlefield
All aboard Wyatt Cenac’s weekely comedy cavalcade, tonight with guests Mike Lawrence, Hadiyah Robinson, Alison Leiby, Tom Brady, Nina Manni, Nore Davis and more.
YG, Kamaiyah, Sadboy, RJ @ Irving Plaza
YG is currently on his “Fuck Donald Trump Tour” in support of this year’s great Still Brazy, a G-Funk-inspired followup to his party-rap debut and a much more political album. Frequent collaborator Kamaiyah, whose debut mixtape A Good Night In The Ghetto is also one of the year’s better rap albums, opens.
Brand New, The Front Bottoms, Modern Baseball @ Oakdale Theater (CT)
This great tour doesn’t hit NYC, but if you do want to catch it, tonight’s show in Connecticut is one of the closest places to the city that it stops. Brand New are playing their best album, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, in full for its 10th anniversary, and both openers are excellent (and increasingly popular) bands in their own right.
