Torche at Irving Plaza
Torche at Irving Plaza in April (more by Greg Cristman)

What's going on Monday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

free Leonard Cohen tribute @ Lincoln Center (noon)
To honor the late Leonard Cohen, there will be a tribute from noon to 4 PM on the outdoor Hearst Plaza featuring “recordings of Cohen’s vast body of work, chosen by friends and fans.” It was organized by Hal Wilner, who also organized the Lou Reed tribute earlier this year. But no speakers or live performances at this one.

Bon Iver, Marijuana Deathsquads @ Pioneer Works
Bon Iver’s experimental, heavily electronic new album 22, A Million is like nothing he’s done before, and it’s yet another excellent Bon Iver album in its very own way. Tonight he begins a run of TEN NYC-area shows, with various openers. This show’s got the eccentric Marijuana Deathsquads.

Steve Earle, Graham Nash, Shawn Colvin @ Town Hall
Steve Earle and City Winery are presenting the second annual Keswell School benefit tonight, and they’ve got legendary songwriter Graham Nash on the lineup.

Cam’ron @ Highline Ballroom
While he hasn’t had a big hit in years, Cam’ron remains a force (he’s got a great verse on the Smoke DZA & Pete Rock album that came out three days ago), and it’s always worth taking the chance to see him.

Chief Keef @ Brooklyn Bowl
Chief Keef receded from the spotlight a bit, but he’s stayed insanely prolific. He recently dropped the Chieffing Again EP.

Red Fang, Torche, Whores @ Mercury Lounge
This is a killer tripe bill of metallic rock, from the stoner-y Red Fang, to the super-catchy Torche, to the noisy Whores.

Trapo @ Rough Trade
Wisconsin rapper Trapo recently put out his Shade Trees mixtape, which features guest spots from Chicago’s rising Saba and New York’s Skizzy Mars. Tonight’s one of three release shows he’s doing in the US.

Night Train @ Littlefield
Wyatt Cenac does his weekly Monday-night comedy show Night Train tonight, and this week’s guests are Judah Friedlander, Matt Koff, Kenice Mobley, Puppeteer James Godwin, Calvin Cato, and Violet Gray.
