What's going on Monday?

Mitski at Thalia Hall
Mitski in Chicago (more by James Richards IV)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Mitski, Fear Of Men, Weaves @ Webster Hall
Mitski returned earlier this year with her Dead Oceans debut, Puberty 2, which has deservedly gained her a ton of new fans. Tonight she headlines her biggest NYC show yet, and it sold out well in advance. Also, both openers are great.

PARTYNEXTDOOR, Jeremih @ Terminal 5
Drake associate PARTYNEXTDOOR has written/produced for Drake, Rihanna and others, and he’s a rising artist in his own right too. He’s on tour now with R&B great Jeremih, who has been pretty unstoppable since his career-shifting Late Nights mixtape.

Nobunny, Future Punx, Cowboys, Big Huge @ Shea Stadium
Nobunny’s one-of-a-kind mix of bubbleglam garage and disturbing visual style (that mask!) is best experienced live where crowds tend to be wild and wound-up. Bloomington, IN’s grimy The Cowboys make for good tourmates, and local nu wavers Future Punx are always fun.

This Will Destroy You, Young Widows @ Bowery Ballroom
Post-rock greats This Will Destroy You are currently on tour playing their debut album Young Mountain and its self-titled followup in full. This is their first of two NYC shows, and post-hardcore/noise rock greats Young Widows open this one.

DZ Deathrays, Dune Rats, Surfbort @ Baby’s All Right
It’s a double bill of Aussie punk with duo DZ Deathrays and troublemakers Dune Rats, both from Brisbane.

Steve Hauschildt, FORMA @ (le) poisson rouge
Electronic trio Emeralds are no more, but members have gone solo including Steve Hauschildt, who plays NYC tonight.

Carcass, Deafheaven, Inter Arma, Dissolve @ The Chance
This is a crazy good metal triple-bill. Deafheaven nail a black metal and post-rock blend like few bands can, Carcass are true legends of death metal, and Inter Arma have kinda become a black/death metal version of Swans. The tour doesn’t hit NYC but this show is pretty close.

Andrew WK @ House of Independents (speaking tour)
No one philosophizes about partying more than Andrew WK, and now he’s on the road doing a speaking tour dubbed ‘The Power of Partying.’ Should be very educational and inspiring.

Night Train @ Littlefield
All aboard Wyatt Cenac’s weekly comedy cavalcade, tonight featuring guests Sean Patton, Karl Hess, Daniel Simonsen, Sonia Denis, underrated UK comedian Josie Long, and more.
