What's going on Monday?

Slowdive @ T5 2014 (more by PSquared)

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.

Slowdive, Japanese Breakfast @ Brooklyn Steel
Shoegaze icons Slowdive just released their first album in 22 years, a record that isn’t just good for a comeback but ranks against Souvlaki as their best work. Tonight’s their first of two Brooklyn Steel shows with Japanese Breakfast (who you should definitely get there early to see).

Strand of Oaks, Jason Anderson @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Strand of Oaks’ new album Hard Love has Timothy Showalter venturing into arena rock territory, all while keeping a psychedelic edge (not unlike his past tourmates My Morning Jacket).

Courtney Marie Andrews, Cut Worms (solo) @ Mercury Lounge
Alt-country singer Courtney Marie Andrews is a collaborator of several cool artists, including Damien Jurado, Jimmy Eat World, and Will Oldham. Her solo material, like last year’s Honest Life, is great too. If you’re going tonight, it’s worth showing up for Cut Worms too.

T.I. @ BB King’s
King of the South T.I. remains very active both live and in the studio. Last year, he released the politically charged US Or Else: Letter to the System, and his Hustle Gang plans to release their third installment of their Get Dough or Die mixtapes soon. Tonight, Tip brings the Hustle Gang Tour to NYC.

‘The Hum’ w/ Sadie Dupuis (Speedy Ortiz) + Sima Cunningham & Macie Stewart (OHMME), Raquel Berrios (Buscabulla) + Drew Citron (Beverly) + Gabriela Jimeno (Ela Minus) + Gisela Fulla-Silvestre (NOIA), Adeline Michèle (Escort) & Madison McFerrin, Faith Harding (Novelty Daughter) + Sarah Goldstone (Ex-Reyes) + Sally Decker (Multa Nox) & DJ set by Nelleke @ Good Room
Collaborative all-women improvisational music series The Hum is back for the month of May, and tonight’s lineup is particularly impressive, with Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz/Sad13, Drew Citron of Beverly, Gabriela Jimeno (aka Ela Minus), and more.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie @ Playstation Theater
Bronx rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is on a fast rise, as reinforced by this week’s two sold-out shows at NYC’s massive Playstation Theater. This is the second.

Night Train w/ guest hosts The Kondabolu Brothers @ Littlefield
Hari and Ashok Kondabolu fill in for regular Night Train host Wyatt Cenac and welcome guests Rojo Perez, Chelsea Hood, Carmen Lagala, May Wilkerson, Chris Garcia, Danny Jolles, and more.
