Miracle Legion

What's going on Monday?

Miracle Legion
Miracle Legion

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Miracle Legion @ Cake Shop
This will be the first show Mark Mulcahy and Ray Neal have done as Miracle Legion in 20 years, playing tonight as an acoustic duo. (Given their Me & Mr Ray LP is essentially that, this should be just fine.) Miracle Legion as a full band will play The Bell House this summer.

The Mountain Goats, William Tyler @ City Winery
The consistently great Mountain Goats returned last year with the very solid Beat The Champ. Tonight they’re on night two of a sold-out three-night run at City Winery with guitar master William Tyler.

Colin Stetson, Justin Walker @ Le Poisson Rouge
Sax great Colin Stetson recently released his new album SORROW, which featured contributions from some of his frequent collaborators like Liturgy’s Greg Fox and Arcade Fire’s Sarah Neufeld. Tonight he performs music from the album, as well as a reimagining of Gorecki’s 3rd Symphony.

Citizen, Turnover, Sorority Noise, Milk Teeth @ @ Market Hotel
This is a great bill all around — Citizen basically introduce the Jesus Lizard to the modern pop punk world, Turnover have an emo-ish take on dream/jangle pop, Sorority Noise make crunchy rock with seriously heavy lyrics, and Milk Teeth are a new-ish UK band who sound straight out of mid-’90s Alternative Rock. Tonight’s their second of two sold-out NYC shows on this tour.

Bernie Rally feat. TV on the Radio (music starts at 7pm), Danny Glover, Fisher Stevens @ Hunter’s Point South Park
The third of Bernie Sanders rallies to feature prominent Brooklyn bands, this one in Long Island City and on the eve of the just ahead of the New York primary. Doors open at 5 PM, and the music starts at 7 PM.

Steely Dan @ Capitol Theatre
Donald Fagen and Walter Becker are out on “The Dan Who Knew Too Much” tour and this is the first of two nights at the Cap.

Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago @ Madison Square Garden
One of the most popular bands of the ’70s, Earth, Wind & Fire still have all the elements of a fun evening, namely their long list of hits.

Jeffrey Lewis and Los Bolts, Captain Chaos, Teenage Halloween, Mikey Erg, Hiccup @ Shea Stadium
A true NYC treasure, Jeffrey Lewis is a witty observer who puts his unique spin on love, everyday life or even the history of The Fall. He’s always worth seeing live.

You Fucking Die, Wilful Boys, Anti Difranco, The Danger Boys @ Saint Vitus
Brooklyn’s You Fucking Die make gritty, beer-stained punk with a flinty, sarcastic edge that could’ve found them on AmRep in the ’90s or on a bill with McClusky in the ’00s. They celebrate the release of their new EP tonight

Nosaj Thing x Daito, Jim-e Stack @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Electronic/hip hop musician Nosaj Thing teams up with choreographer Daito Manabe for what should be quite the audio/visual experience.

Murder By Death, Tim Barry @ Rough Trade
Murder by Death are currently on the road with varying openers. They just played NYC on Friday with Kevin Devine and tonight they’re with former Avail frontman Tim Barry.

Night Train Hosted by Wyatt Cenac @ Littlefield
All aboard Wyatt Cenac’s weekly comedy cavalcade, tonight with guests Emmy Blotnick, Joe Para, Sydnee Washington, and more.
