What's going on Monday (MLK Day)?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

City of Caterpillar, Big Hush, Ghastly City Sleep @ Saint Vitus
Screamo greats City of Caterpillar were only around for a few years in the early ’00s, but they left a major mark on the genre. It’s a sound that’s more popular than ever today, and plenty of modern bands would surely consider their spastic, progressive sound to be an influence. Now they’re reuniting and playing two Saint Vitus shows this week. This is the first.

Steve Earle, Amy Helm @ City Winery
Folk veteran Steve Earle plays another of his winter residency shows at City Winery tonight, and this one’s with singer/songwriter Amy Helm (daughter of Levon), who released her debut album Didn’t It Rain in 2015.

Shannon and the Clams, Brooklyn Bluebirds, Hideout @ Baby’s All Right
Shannon & the Clams are about to head into the studio to make their next album and are playing three warm-up shows at Baby’s beforehand. This is the first.

Phoebe Robinson, Michelle Wolf, Matteo Lane, Janelle James, Julio Torres, Jo Firestone, Sadie Dupuis (DJ) @ The Bell House
A bunch of funny folk are all performing tonight to raise money for Planned Parenthood. Sold out.

Mike Birbiglia @ Union Hall
While Mike Birbiglia can fill big venues these days, he still stops by Union Hall to test new material at shows he calls “Working it Out.”

Night Train @ Littlefield
All aboard Wyatt Cenac’s weekly comedy cavalcade, tonight with guests Maeve Higgins, Jacqueline Novak, Aaron Berg, Haywood Turnipseed, Sean Donnelly, and more.
