What's going on Monday (The Fourth of July)?

Woods at Music Hall of Williamsburg
Woods at Music Hall of Williamsburg in May (more by PSquared)

It’s Independence Day Weekend, you can check out our guide to all of the cool stuff going on. You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Woods, The Mystery Lights, The Lemon Twigs, Lee Fields & The Expressions, D.R.A.M., Phony PPL, Melo-X, Jonathan Toubin @ South Street Seaport (Festival of Independence)
It’s day two of the Seaport’s free Festival of Independence, with a pretty killer lineup of Woods, Lee Fields, The Mystery Lights and more. The Seaport is also a cool place to catch the fireworks. Bands start around 4 PM today.

Mister Wallace, Waffle Crew, Rozay Lebeija, Celestial Traxx, QUEST?ONMARC, Gooddroid, LTE @ Knockdown Center (You Are Here)
You Are Here is a “multi sensory installation and living sculpture. It is activated by performers, musicians, dancers, and visitors. Audience members arrive at “You Are Here” with the intention of catching a particular presentation, but intentions are frustrated and transformed by the labyrinthine construction, all held together by a plethora of performance artists.”

The Beach Boys @ The Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk
The Beach Boys as about as American as it gets, so having them play at the beach on the Fourth of July could be fun fun fun even if this version of the band is far from ideal (Mike Love and Bruce Johnson being the only original members).

OSHUN, Tre’von Lyle, Jaahh Hova, Khalil Music, Flo Kennedy, Highclass Hoodlums @ Trans-Pecos
NYC’s Oshun make neo-soul that’s like Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill and Digable Planets all rolled into one, with so much natural talent and confidence. They’re one of NYC’s best rising bands, and any chance to see them while they’re still small is worth taking.

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
