WFMU RECORD FAIR w/ Wreckless Eric and more @ Brooklyn Expo Center
It’s day 2 of the WFMU record fair and in addition to all the vintage vinyl (over 200 vendors!) there are live performances today (Wreckless Eric, Hurry, Sarah Shook and more), movie screenings (The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Manson Family: An Opera), and more. We’ve got a coupon for $2 off admission, and if you’re going you might want to stop by the nearby Numero Group popup.

George Clinton, Parliament Funkadelic, Miss Velvet and the Blue Wolf @ BB King’s
It’s the second to last night of B.B. Kings and you can be sure that Georgge Clinton and Parliamnent Funkadelic will be tearing the roof off this sucker.

Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def), NFROMTHEWAVE, Natasha Diggs (DJ) @ Sony Hall
Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def) is busy this year with Black Star, who are apparently releasing their first album since their 1998 debut, but he’s also taking time to do his own thing, like in NYC tonight.

Calexico, Ryley Walker @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Long-running, genre-defying rock band Calexico are on tour supporting this year’s The Thing That Keeps Us (out now on ANTI-) and they’ve got excellent support from folk singer/guitar great Ryley Walker. Tonight’s their first of two NYC shows.

Chris Thile, Calexico, Meshell Ndegeocello (NPR’s Live From Here) @ Town Hall
Earlier in the day, Calexico join Meshell Ndegeocello and Mike Yard on Chris Thile’s NPR show Live from Here which is broadcast live from Town Hall.

Rosetta, Sunrot, Gatherers @ Saint Vitus
Philly post-meal staples Rosetta released their sixth album Utopioid last year, and as is to be expected, it’s great stuff. They’re in NYC tonight.

Steven Wilson, Paul Draper @ PlayStation Theater
Porcupine Tree frontman Steven Wilson is touring behind his fifth solo album, To The Bone, and playing his first of two Playstation Theater shows tonight.

Lords of Death, Locus Mortis, Anthony Saunders, Gray Market, Imminent Death @ Silent Barn
Silent Barn sadly closes for good tomorrow, and today you have THREE more chances to see a show there before it’s gone. The first is this hardcore matinee, which is an “ABC No Rio in exile” show. Then…

Big Eyes, Concussion, Snakeskin, Psychic Judge @ Silent Barn
…the night show at Silent Barn tonight is another punk show, headlined by local melodic punk greats Big Eyes. And after that…

…Silent Barn hosts a midnight show, headlined by Gnarcissists.

The F.U.’s, Urban Waste, World War IX, A Breed Apart @ The Kingsland
New-ish Greenpoint punk venue The Kingsland hosts a killer bill tonight, led by Boston hardcore vets The F.U.’s and New York hardcore vets Urban Waste.

Matt & Kim, Tokyo Police Club, Future Feats @ Brooklyn Steel
Matt & Kim are releasing a new album in May, but first they’re on tour and playing their first of two Brooklyn Steel shows tonight. Great direct support comes from Tokyo Police Club, who also just dropped a new single and are talking about a new LP.

Ibibio Sound Machine, Underground System @ Brooklyn Bowl
UK afro-funk band Ibibio Machine returned last year with their second album and first for Merge Records, Uyai, which is a really great time. With a band like this, the live show is sure to be even more of a great time.

Pill, Sneaks, Flexi @ ALPHAVILLE
Sax-fueled skronkers Pill celebrate the release of their their new record (which collects the contents of previously released tapes) tonight with Merge-signed Sneaks. If you’re going be sure to show up early to catch Flexi who are playing their first show ever.

Nicole Atkins, Indianola, Hiko Men @ Baby’s All Right
Singer/songwriter Nicole Atkins returned last year with Goodnight Rhonda Lee, and she plays Baby’s tonight in continued support of it.

Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, Zephaniah Ohora @ Berlin
Alt-country badass Sarah Shook recently released her new album Years on Bloodshot Records. After playing the WFMU Record Fair this afternoon, she and her band The Disarmers will play a sold-out show at Berlin.

Lapalux, Heathered Pearls, Eaves @ Elsewhere
British Brainfeeder-signed producer Lapalux recently followed his third full-length Ruinism and the The End of Industry EP with the new single “Damson,” and tonight he returns to Elsewhere to get the dancefloors moving in the venue’s smaller Zone One room.

Gov’t Mule @ The Capitol Theatre
Warren Haynes is busy as ever, and right now he’s on tour with his band Gov’t Mule who play two nights at the Cap this weekend (this is the second). In the summer, they’ll be back in the area for their ‘Dark Side of the Mule’ shows with The Avett Brothers.

Yvette, Balún, Dark Tea @ Union Pool
Dark and loud duo Yvette headline this benefit show where proceeds go to the MS Foundation.
