You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Ronnie Spector & The Ronettes @ City Winery
It’s not Christmas in NYC without some shows from Ronnie Spector, whose voice graced such A Christmas Gift To You From Phil Spector classics as “Frosty the Snowman,” “Sleigh Ride,” and “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” as a member of The Ronettes.

A Darlene Love Christmas @ Sony Hall
Meanwhile, Darlene Love — who sang “White Christmas,” “Marshmallow World,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home”) on A Christmas Gift For You from Phil Spector — is back with her annual holiday run, too.

‘Live From Here’ with Chris Thile, Rosanne Cash, The Knights, Jim Breuer, Gaby Moreno @ Town Hall
Live from Town Hall, Chris Thile’s APM show this week welcomes Rosanne Cash, comedian Jim Breuer and more.

The Slackers, War on Women @ Irving Plaza
NYC ska vets The Slackers are playing their hometown for the holidays, and making this show even better is an opening set from feminist hardcore band War On Women, whose new album Capture The Flag is #23 on our top 50 albums of 2018.

Vein, Planning For Burial, Regulate, Fuming Mouth, Silenus @ Saint Vitus
Vein’s 2018 debut album Errorzone was one of the best albums in this new wave of nu metal/metalcore-leaning hardcore, and they continue to get bigger and bigger and land more cool tours (having recently opened a run for Every Time I Die, they have runs opening for Killswitch Engage and Thursday scheduled for 2019). Tonight, they play a sold-out headlining show at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus, with killer direct support from sludgy slowcore one-man-band Planning for Burial.

Carnivore A.D., Sheer Terror, Agents of Man, World Demise, Shackled @ The Kingsland
NYHC legends Sheer Terror, and Carnivore A.D. (the new offshoot band of NYC metal legends Carnivore) are teaming for this hometown holiday show. Things tend to get nuts at old school punk/metal shows at The Kingsland, and tonight should be no exception.

Trophy Scars, The Battery Electric, Boys Of Fall @ White Eagle Hall
NJ post-hardcore greats Trophy Scars’ shows are few and far between these days, and tonight they play a rare show in their home state.

Wet Tuna (MV & P.G. Six), Garcia Peoples, Elkhorn @ Union Pool
Matt “MV” Valentine and Pat “P.G. Six” Gubler are Wet Tuna and headline this show tonight with NJ psych act Garcia Peoples and more.

Funk Flex, DJ Chuck Chillout, DJ Red Alert @ S.O.B.’s
A trio of hip hop radio DJ legends will be spinning tonight.
