What's going on Saturday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Kevin Devine and The Goddamn Band, An Horse @ Bowery Ballroom
Kevin Devine and An Horse are both celebrating 10th anniversaries of albums at this show, Brother’s Blood and Rearrange Beds, respectively. What should be a very fun night concludes their two-night stand at Bowery Ballroom.

A$AP Ferg, Murda Beatz, Madeintyo @ Brooklyn Steel
A$AP Ferg, who landed on our list of the 100 Best Rap and R&B Albums of the 2010s, always puts on rowdy, super-fun live shows.

Terry Riley at 85 @ Pioneer Works
To celebrate Terry Riley’s upcoming 85th birthday, Pioneer Works is presenting two unique nights of music. Night two includes a live 50th anniversary performance of “A Rainbow in Curved Air” featuring Angel Deradoorian, Greg Fox, Justin Frye, Ben Greenberg, Yuka C Honda and Okkyung Lee.

Versus, Spectre Folk @ Elsewhere
Versus released two very good records this year but don’t tour much. It’s a rare chance to see them tonight, and making the show even better is Spectre Folk (who count Steve Shelley and Mark Ibold as members).

Todd Terry, Soul Summit, Rissa Garcia @ Elsewhere
House DJ Todd Terry, whose remix of Everything But the Girl’s “Missing” became a worldwide hit, spins tonight.

David Byrne’s American Utopia @ Hudson Theatre
David Byrne has retooled his acclaimed “untethered” 2018 for the Broadway stage and while the setlist and arrangements are much like what they were on his tour, songs are now threaded together with new monologues from Byrne, making for a much more theatrical experience.

Benny the Butcher, A$AP Twelvyy, Smoke DZA, Flipp Dinero, Xanman, Slayter @ Baby’s All Right
The Smoker’s Club is throwing a big hip hop holiday show just in time for Christmas, featuring headliner Benny the Butcher alongside Smoke DZA (who Benny released an EP with this year), A$AP Twelvyy, and several others.

Varsity, Emily Reo, Winter, Lunarette @ Market Hotel
Chicago band Varsity play their first-ever NYC show at Market Hotel tonight, which also features singer-songwriter Emily Reo, LA-based artist Winter, and recently-formed quartet Lunarette.

Insane Clown Posse @ Rocks Off Concert Cruises
It’s the weekend before Christmas (and Hanukkah), and nothing says the holidays like Insane Clown Posse on a boat.

Silvertomb, Kings Bounty @ Saint Vitus Bar
Silvertomb, the current band of Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Danzig) and Kenny Hickey (Type O Negative), are playing their first-ever headlining show tonight.

Life of Agony @ Starland Ballroom
Brooklyn alt-metal vets Life of Agony returned this year with their new album The Sound of Scars, a sequel to their classic 1993 debut River Runs Red. Expect a mix of new songs and classics at tonight’s show, which also includes NJ rapcore vets Dog Eat Dog.

Sebastian @ Webster Hall
Glitchy French electronic producer Sebastian heads to Webster Hall tonight, supporting his latest album Thirst, which dropped last month.

A Murray Little Christmas @ Joe’s Pub
Drag vet Murray Hill’s “A Murray Little Christmas” shows are a NYC holiday tradition, and this year guests include Bridget Everett, Angie Pontani, Carmine Covelli, Nik Baker, and more.

Ana Gasteyer: Sugar & Booze @ Joe’s Pub
If you miss Ana Gasteyer’s presence on Saturday Night Live, she’ll be bringing her comedy and musical skills with this holiday-themed show.

You can also find quality entertainment on almost any night of the week at: Barbès bar and performance space in Park Slope, LunÀtico in Bed Stuy, Nublu in the East Village, Blue Note jazz club in the West Village, The Stone in multiple locations, Comedy Cellar in the West Village, and Q.E.D. comedy club in Astoria.
