What's going on Saturday?

Appetite-For-Destruction3

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Guns N’ Roses @ Metlife Stadium
Dubbed the “Not in This Lifetime” tour, what seemed like an impossibility — Axl back with Slash (Duff, too) — is here, in the flesh for two shows at Metlife.

Panorama Festival @ Randall’s Island
NYC’s inaugural Panorama Festival continues today and the schedule is loaded with great acts. Today’s got Kendrick Lamar, The National, Sufjan Stevens, Blood Orange, Anderson .Paak, Daughter, The Julie Ruin, Ex Hex, and more.

GOGGS, Babes, Monograms @ Baby’s All Right
GOGGS is the trio of Ty Segal, Ex-Cult singer Chris Shaw, and past Ty collaborator Charles Moothart. They make a sludgy racket, and tonight’s their second of two NYC shows this weekend.

Lydia Lunch, Gregg Foreman @ Berlin
No wave legend Lydia Lunch puts on a free “impassioned word-based performance.”

Alex Calder, Freak Heat Wave, Lina Tullgren @ Cake Shop
Alex Calder hails from Edmonton, Alberta, and was a member of Makeout Videotape, aka Mac DeMarco’s old band. Like Mac, he’s now part of the Captured Tracks roster and released his debut album, Strange Dreams, earlier this year. While not a million miles away from what his old bandmate does (hazy guitar pop), Calder’s music seems a bit more serious.

Villagers, Woodpigeon @ (le) poisson rouge
Irish indie folkies Villagers, the project led by Conor O’Brien, tonight are joined by Calgary, Alberta’s Woodpigeon, making for a nice, mostly acoustic double bill.

Darlene Love @ Lincoln Center/Damrosch Park Bandshell
Part of the free Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival, tonight is “An Evening with Darlene Love,” one of Phil Spector’s favorite singers and the voice of many hits, including “He’s a Rebel.”

Tokimonsta, Gillian Moss (DJ) @ Mercury Lounge
In town for Panorama, EDM beatmaker Tokimonsta plays this midnight aftershow too.

Flosstradamus, Tokimonsta (DJ) @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Tokimonsta also DJs at another dancey Panorama aftershow: Flosstradamus.

Branko, Kamaiyah, Maluca Mala, IMAABS, Endgame @ MoMA PS1 (Warm Up)
Buraka Som Sistema’s João “Branko” Barbosa headlines this week’s dance party under the sun in MoMA PS1’s courtyard. It’s also a great chance to catch rising Oakland rapper Kamaiyah in NYC (one of three chances this week-ish).

Femi Kuti, Bombino @ Prospect Park Bandshell
Femi Kuti (son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti) and Taureg guitar great Bombino play this free Celebrate Brooklyn! show tonight.

Beverly, Wild Yaks, Las Rosas @ Rippers
Head to this Rockaway Beach favorite grub hub for an afternoon of quality Brooklyn guitar pop by the sea, headlined by the beachy Beverly.

Paul F. Tompkins, Paget Brewster, Marc Evan Jackson, Mark Gagliardi, Craig Cackowski @ The Bell House
A bunch of very talented and funny folk, headed by Paul F. Tompkins, satirize and pay homage to radio series in this “Thrilling Adventure Hour” performance.

OSHUN, Orisha Love, Nuri Hazard @ Trans-Pecos
“RISE in Power is an ALL AGES benefit concert in honor of Delrawn Small Dempsey, a Black brother of East New York whose life was senselessly stripped at the hands of an NYPD officer on the eve of Independence Day.” This cool show for a good cause is headlined by one of NYC’s best new neo-soul bands, OSHUN.

Eddie Izzard @ Beacon Theatre
British comedy institution Eddie Izzard brings back his acclaimed “Force Majeure” tour to Beacon Theatre for two nights.

XXYYXX, Different Sleep, Matt Sebastian @ Sugarhill Disco
Orlando beatmaker XXYYXX returns to NYC to move dancefloors.

The Gregg Allman Band, Jason Isbell, America, The Marshall Tucker Band, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Devon Allman, Gabriel Kelley, Levon @ Jones Beach
Gregg Allman’s touring Laid Back Festival hits the NYC-area tonight. Especially worth catching is alt-country fave Jason Isbell.

Suzzy Roche & Lucy Wainwright Roche, Greg Trooper @ Union Hall
Suzzy Roche and Lucy Wainwright Roche recently released their second collaborative album, Mud and Apples, and this is the release show.

OZY Fusion Fest @ Rumsey Playfield in Central Park
Panorama isn’t the only inaugural festival in NYC this weekend. There’s also OZY Media and the Fusion TV Channel’s OZY Fusion Fest, which “is an intersection of thought, food and music, shopping and will feature icons, entertainers, tech innovators and thought leaders.” There’s music from rising soulful singer Andra Day, former Fugee and ’90s/early ’00s hitmaker Wyclef Jean, and others appearing include Abbi Jacobson & Ilana Glazer from Broad City, plus Bill Gates and more.
