What’s going on Saturday?

Yvette at Death by Audio
Yvette @ DbA (more by Ebru Yildiz)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Marching Church, Bernardino Femminielli @ Sunnyvale
Marching Church is the project of Iceage singer Elias Bender Rønnenfeldt, whose new album Telling it Like It Is has a pleasingly Nick Cave-esque late night swagger to it. If you’re going tonight, be sure to catch Montreal’s eccentric (disturbing?) Bernardino Femminielli.

Wyclef Jean, Kassav, The Janes Life @ Terminal 5
Wyclef Jean‘s new EP, J’Ouvert, was just released and celebrates that — and the 20th anniversary ofThe Carnival— at this show.

Yvette, Grooms, Weeping Icon, Ritual Humor @ Trans-Pecos
Brookyn duo Yvette are coming out of hibernation, headlining this terrific bill that includes krauty Grooms and more.

Wet (acoustic), Alex Cameron, Free The Mind, Kitty Cash (DJ), Bec Adams (DJ), Jo Firestone, Jena Friedman, Sharron Paul, Cocoon Central Dance Team, Sam Taggart, Sarah Jaffe, Ben Wizner, Amber Schaefer (host) @ Brooklyn Night Bazaar
“No Enemies Left” is a benefit for the ACLU featuring a whole host of comedy and music acts.

‘New Peck’ ballet (music by Dan Deacon) @ David H. Koch Theater
Dan Deacon‘s “The USA” suite from his 2012 album America is going to be used by the New York City Ballet as part of their “New Combinations” program they’ll perform seven times this season. As choreographed by the acclaimed Justin Peck, the performance will have “his dancers trading their pointe shoes in for sneakers.”

Bush Tetras, Jack Martin (Bob Dylan Deathwatch), Babe The Blue Ox @ The Bowery Electric
NYC post punk vets celebrate their 37th anniversary tonight with Brooklyn’s long-running indie rock band Babe the Blue Ox.

Alvarius B. (of Sun City Girls), Robert Millis @ Union Pool
Onetime Sun City Girls guitarist and Sublime Frequencies founder Alan Bishop is back in NYC with his Alvarius B project.

Olof Arnalds, Cold Weather Company @ Mercury Lounge
Icelandic singer Olof Arnalds last released the gorgeous album Palme (which she made with longtime collaborator Skúli Sverrisson and múm’s Gunnar Örn Tynes) in 2014. No word on a followup yet, but she’s back in NYC tonight.

Obliteration, Lluvia, Young and in the Way, Reptilian, A God or an Other, Inculter, Insect Ark @ Saint Vitus
Metal festival Stardust continues tonight at Saint Vitus, headlined by Norwegian death metal band Obliteration. Others on the lineup include North Carolina hardcore band Young and in the Way, local experimental artist Insect Ark, and more.

Dominic, Norwegian Arms, Bueno, Triathalon @ The Gateway
Dominic Angelella has been a staple of the Philly scene for years. He leads the band DRGN KING, he’s one half of Lithuania (with Eric Slick of Dr. Dog), he’s currently playing bass in mewithoutYou, and he’s also played in Hop Along, among other projects. He’s also an in-demand session musician who played keys on Kendrick Lamar’s untitled unmastered. He just released his solo album Goodnight Doggies under the name Dominic, and he celebrates that tonight.

Weeknight, Boot Blacks @ ALPHAVILLE
Brooklyn’s gothy Weeknight are back, now as a full band (formerly a duo) and a whole bunch of new songs they’re working on for the next album.

Purr, Cut Worms, The Shacks @ Baby’s All Right
Purr is the new group from Jack and Eliza of Jack & Eliza, matched up with the equally ’60s-ish Cut Worms and The Shacks.

Every Time I Die, Knocked Loose, Harm’s Way, Eternal Sleep @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Long-running melodic hardcore band Every Time I Die return to NYC tonight, and there’s a pretty awesome undercard.

Emily Reo, Algebra II, Rhea @ Silent Barn
This is a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood, headlined by local avant-pop artist Emily Reo.
