What's going on Saturday?

Old 97s
Old 97’s

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Old 97’s, Nicole Atkins @ Irving Plaza
More than 20 years into their career, alt-country vets Old 97’s are more than still kickin’, having released their 11th album, Graveyard Whistling, back in February.

The Damned @ Stone Pony
Captain Sensible took a spill onstage in Toronto last weekend and broke a rib, causing The Damned to cancel a couple shows this week (including last night’s Brooklyn show). For now, this show, which would be the Captain’s first since the accident, is still on. We obviously want to see The Damned (who were flat-out great last year at Gramercy) but we also don’t want Captain to make things worse. We’re sure they’ll make the sensible decision.

Bang On A Can Marathon @ Brooklyn Museum
The 2017 edition of the Bang on a Can Marathon, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, goes down from from 2 to 10 PM with Kaki King, Innov Gnawa, Meredith Monk Vocal Ensemble, ambient music pioneer Laraaji, the Bang on a Can All-Stars and more. Admission is a suggested donation of $16 before 5 PM and will be free after 5 courtesy of Target First Saturdays.

Vagabon, Nnamdi Ogbonnaya, So Much Light @ Brooklyn Bazaar
Brooklyn indie rocker Vagabon has deservedly picked up buzz this year for her debut album Infinite Worlds, which comes across great in a live environment too. See for yourself tonight.

24 hour show w/ Sad13, Lætitia, Yohuna, Jeffrey Lewis & Los Bolts & mannnnny more @ 603
Like they do every year, Bushwick DIY venue 603 is throwing a show today that lasts a full 24 hours. A bunch of great musicians are on board.

Abbey Lincoln Tribute w/ Dee Dee Bridgewater, Dianne Reeves, Esperanza Spalding @ Apollo
Musical director Terri Lyne Carrington presents a tribute to the late jazz vocalist Abbey Lincoln at The Apollo tonight. Among the lineup is the beloved jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding.

Cymbals Eat Guitars, Tyler Sarfert @ Wonder Bar
Cymbals Eat Guitars have upcoming NYC shows opening for the Pixies and then one opening for Yeasayer and Polica. If you wanna see them at a smaller headlining show, head to Asbury Park’s Wonder Bar tonight.

Emel Mathlouthi, Briana Marela @ Le Poisson Rouge
Tunisian protest singer Emel Mathlouthi recently released her first album for an American label (Partisan), Ensen. She’s currently supporting it on tour.

Barbara Streisand @ Barclays Center
