What's going on Saturday?

Passion Pit @ Pemberton Fest 2015 (more)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Passion Pit, slenderbodies @ Terminal 5
Michael Angelakos is “taking time away from being a commercialized artist,” but that does not include Passion Pit’s current tour where part of the proceeds from VIP tickets are going to charities promoting mental health awareness.

Jerry’s Kids, Antidote, Beyond, Straw Dogs, Silence Equals Death, Scalple @ Brooklyn Bazaar (matinee)
Boston hardcore vets Jerry’s Kids were on the legendary This Is Boston, Not L.A. compilation in 1982, and they’re still going strong today after reuniting in 2014.

Glue, Urchin, Never, Chrome Skulls @ Brooklyn Bazaar Basement
After the matinee with Jerry’s Kids at Brooklyn Bazaar, the basement of the same venue hosts another hardcore show with a lineup led by crazy Texas kids Glue.

Drugdealer (featuring Weyes Blood), PC Worship, Brian D’Addario @ Baby’s All Right
Drugdealer is the current musical adventure from Michael Collins, who formerly made music as Run DMT and Salvia Plath, and pulls from ’60s/’70s psych pop and cinema. His underrated 2016 album The End of Comedy featured Weyes Blood on a couple songs, and she’ll be playing with the band tonight. Also on the bill: noisy locals PC Worship and The Lemon Twigs’ Brian D’Addario.

Winter Jazzfest
The annual Winter Jazzfest is upon us with events all over the city, including Pete Rock, an orchestral tribute to Dr Dre and more at Bowery Ballroom; Sun Ra Arkestra at The New School; Dave Harrington’s Merry Pranksters at Nublu and more.

Tredici Bacci, Showtime Goma @ Elsewhere
An interesting double bill, with Showtime Goma (aka Jen Goma of A Sunny Day in Glasgow) and her theatrical live show and headliners Tredici Bacci who worship at the alter of Ennio Morricone and other groovy soundtrack composers.

Darlene Love @ BB King Blues Club
The voice behind “He’s a Rebel” and much of the A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector album, Darlene Love is one of the iconic voices of the girl group era.

Trevor Noah @ Radio City Music Hall
Best known these days as host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah cut his teeth as an observational, empathetic standup. This is his second of two nights at Radio City.

Springsteen on Broadway @ Walter Kerr Theatre
The Boss continues his completely sold-out “Springsteen on Broadway” run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, which has now been extended through June! At these shows, Bruce plans to give fans shows “that are as personal and as intimate as possible.”
