What’s going on Sunday?
You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…
OctFest 2018 @ Governors Island
Pitchfork’s two-day celebration of music and craft beer wraps up today with a pretty great lineup of The Flaming Lips, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Yo La Tengo, Hop Along, and more.
Alejandro Escovedo, Don Antonio, Gamblers @ Knitting Factory Brooklyn
Alejandro Escovedo will preview his new LP, The Crossing, which he made with Italy’s Don Antonio who are also on the bill here.
All Pigs Must Die, Homewrecker, Ache @ Saint Vitus
Hardcore supergroup All Pigs Must Die (mems of Converge, Hope Conspiracy, Blood Horse, Trap Them) are doing just a few shows in continued support of last year’s Hostage Animal, including Brooklyn tonight.
Waxahatchee, Night Shop, Anna St. Louis @ The Bell House
Waxahatchee (aka Katie Crutchfield) is fresh off releasing a new EP and now she’s on a solo tour. As great as her current live band is, it’s always a treat to see her in an intimate environment like this too. Both openers are worth catching as well.
Obituary, Exmortus @ House of Independents
US death metal vets Obituary released a great self-titled album last year, and they’re back on tour in continued support of it.
Ex Hex, EZTV @ Asbury Lanes
Mary Timony’s glam-punk band Ex Hex are putting finishing touches on their second album so hopefully we’ll get a few new ones tonight.
Sugar Candy Mountain, Champagne SuperChillin @ Baby’s All Right
It’s a double dose of sunny psychedelia with loungey/tropical twists.
