Yo La Tengo at Bowery Ballroom

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Yo La Tengo @ Bowery Ballroom
It’s the final night of Hanukkah and Yo La Tengo’s menorah run at Bowery Ballroom (one of NYC’s best holiday traditions). They’ve had some pretty special guest and performances this week (including their own, where they haven’t repeated a song all week). Who will be the guests to close out the run?

Heron Oblivion, Sunwatchers, Headroom @ Baby’s All Right
Having reunited with Espers and released a collaborative album with Mary Lattimore this year, Meg Baird is now back fronting the great psych-rock supergroup Heron Oblivion, who wrap up a short Northeast run tonight.

Khruangbin, Will Van Horn @ Brooklyn Steel
Instrumental trio Khruangbin mix influences from around the world, as heard on this year’s fun Con Todo El Mundo. Tonight’s their second of two sold-out Brooklyn Steel shows.

Maxwell @ Beacon Theatre
Soul and R&B great Maxwell is gearing up to complete his NIGHT trilogy in 2019 and is currently on his “50 Intimate Nights” tour small theaters like the Beacon.

A John Waters Christmas @ City Winery
For those who appreciate the trashier side of holidays, there’s this now annual show from the great John Waters who will regale us with horror stories from Christmases past, and more.

TIGUE @ Pioneer Works
TIGUE, the Brooklyn-based trio of Matt Evans, Amy Garapic, and Carson Moody play tonight as part of Pioneer Works free “Second Sundays” series.

Richard Swift Tribute w/ Nathaniel Rateliff, Hamilton Leithauser, Valerie JuneSam Cohen & more @ Rough Trade
We lost Richard Swift back in July and tonight he and his music will be honored by some of his friends and fellow musicians.

Neal Brennan @ Highline Ballroom
Comedian and co-creator of Chappelle’s Show, Neal Brennan plays tonight as part of his “Here We Go” tour.

Eliot Glazer’s Holiday Haunting Renditions w/ Chris Redd and Larry Owens @ Littlefield
SNL‘s Chris Redd and NYC comic Larry Owens join Eliot Glazer (brother of Ilana) for this holiday edition of his “Haunting Renditions” show where he takes pop songs and gives them the grandiose piano treatment.
