Deerhoof’s eccentric performances are always a treat to witness live, and they wrap up their April tour tonight.

Trey Anastasio Band @ Brooklyn Bowl
Phish frontman Trey Anastasio has been keeping busy in 2019, having released his new solo LP Ghosts of the Forest earlier this month. Tonight’s NYC stop marks his band’s first of two nights at Brooklyn Bowl.

WFMU Record Fair
It’s the final day of WFMU’s annual fundraiser and vinyl-palooza, and today there is an afternoon live performance by Elkhorn and 3 PM.

Kris Kristofferson (& The Strangers) @ City Winery
Best known these days as an actor, Kris Kristofferson is also a songwriter having penned such hits as “Me and Bobby McGee”, “For the Good Times”, “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down,” and “Help Me Make It Through the Night”.

Hot Water Music, Iron Chic, Crime in Stereo @ House of Independents
Gravelly-voiced punk greats Hot Water Music are on the road playing two of their most loved albums in full, Caution and No Division. Tonight’s Caution night in Brooklyn. Likeminded newer band Iron Chic and Long Island-based Crime in Stereo open, and that’s a pretty amazing triple bill.

#ADULTING with Michelle Buteau and Jordan Carlos (two shows) @ Union Hall
Michelle Buteau and Jordan Carlos tape two episodes of their podcast #ADULTING tonight: the 5:00 PM show features guests Christian Finnegan, JC Coccoli, and Jade Catta-Preta; while the 7:30 PM show features Colin Donnell, Taylor Ortega, and Dulcé Sloan.

Melissa Villasenor, Anna Drezen, Sam Morril, Tim Dillon, Ismael @ Baby’s All Right
SNL cast member, singer and impression master Melissa Villasenor headlines this night of comedy at Baby’s All Right, which also features SNL writer Anna Drezen, The Comedy Lineup‘s Tim Dillon, and others.

Will Haven, Architect, Locked in a Vacancy, Nerveshatter @ Saint Vitus
Post-hardcore/alt-metal vets Will Haven head to Brooklyn for their first of two US shows in 2019, and they’ll have some solid support from likeminded veteran New York bands Architect and Locked In A Vacancy, as well as newer local band Nerveshatter.

Tribeca Film Festival
The 2019 edition of the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival continues today with screenings all over the city, including the Other Music documentary. a talk between Martin Scorsese and a 40th anniversary screening of Apocalypse Now with a Q&A between director Francis Ford Coppola and fellow filmmaker Steven Soderbergh.

The Proletariat, Moving Targets @ The Kingsland
Kenny Chambers reactivated his old Boston punk band Moving Targets with new members last year and play today fellow Taang! vets The Proletariat.

Mr Eazi @ Brooklyn Steel
Mad Decent-signed Nigerian pop singer Mr. Eazi stops by Brooklyn Steel tonight as part of his spring headlining tour.

Fruit & Flowers @ Fulton Stall Market
For 2019, South Street Seaport’s Fulton Stall Market will have an outdoor market on Pier 19 on Sunday afternoons, and they’ll have bands too (right where they used to be at the old Seaport Music Festival). This is the first week which is with Brooklyn punky indierock outfit Fruit & Flowers.
