What's going on Sunday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Talib Kweli w/ live band ft special guests @ Blue Note (two shows)
Talib Kweli’s four-night residency at Blue Note wraps up with two shows tonight, where he’s promising some special guests, who are currently TBA.

ChameleonsVox, Theatre of Hate, Jay Aston @ Saint Vitus
Former Chameleons frontman Mark Burgess is performing Chameleons songs under the name ChameleonsVOX these days, and he’ll bring decades of favorites to Saint Vitus. Fellow UK post-punk/goth vets Theatre of Hate and Jay Aston of Gene Loves Jezebel (who will perform acoustically) serve as openers.

Downtown Boys, Clear Channel, Big Huge @ Union Pool
Politically-conscious punks Downtown Boys head to Union Pool as part of a brief East Coast tour leg, with help from DC band Clear Channel and NYC-based Big Huge.

Madball, Brick By Brick, No Option, Poor Choice @ Amityville Music Hall
NYHC vets Madball have played several dates in and around their hometown in recent months, and this latest Long Island show features support from a trio of fellow East Coast hardcore acts.

David Byrne’s American Utopia @ Hudson Theatre
David Byrne has retooled his acclaimed “untethered” 2018 tour for the Broadway stage, and while the setlist and arrangements are much like what they were on his tour, songs are now threaded together with new monologues from Byrne, making for a much more theatrical experience.

Wet Leather, New Myths, Caravela @ Baby’s All Right
Local indie/emo band Caravela have been touring with Wet Leather on their way to and from The Fest, and they play a homecoming show tonight.

New York Comedy Festival
The 2019 New York Comedy Festival wraps up today, with dozens of shows happening across the city, including Pete Holmes, Norm Macdonald, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Carmen Christopher, Jena Friedman, and lots more.
