Ice Cube

What's going on Sunday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Afropunk Fest @ Commodore Barry Park
Brooklyn’s annual Afropunk festival wraps up today and it’s truly stacked. There’s rap legend Ice Cube, who’s been having a bit of a moment since the NWA movie and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, hardcore legends Bad Brains, the genre-defying Fishbone, art-soul great Janelle Monae, introverted rap great Earl Sweatshirt, and more.

Action Bronson @ The Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk
Flushing, NY’s favorite foodie-rapper Action Bronson heads to Coney Island today for a show that’s happening in conjunction with the first-ever Sports Illustrated Summer of Swim Fan Festival (true story).

Goldlink, Backyard Band, DJ Spicoli @ Central Park SummerStage
The free SummerStage shows continue today with DC rapper GoldLink headlining.

Joseph Arthur, Joan As Police Woman @ City Winery
Singer/songwriter Joseph Arthur is a very busy guy, and tonight he plays his second of two City Winery shows this month. Joan As Police Woman (the long-running project of former Dambuilders violinist Joan Wasser) opens.

DJ Paypal, Feloneezy, Jackie Dagger, Mel G, Durban @ Trans-Pecos
Having just played Warm Up yesterday, the eccentric Brainfeeder-signed DJ Paypal plays Ridgewood tonight.

California X, Nine of Swords, Laika’s Orbit, HVAC @ Shea Stadium
Shea hosts a night of punky rock, headlined by the Dinosaur Jr-inspired California X.

White Lighters (Brandon Setta of Nothing), Growing Stone, Mark Lanky, Patch Kid @ Black Bear Brooklyn
When he’s not playing in heavy shoegazers Nothing, Brandon Setta makes more stripped-down music as White Lighters.

Dave Chappelle @ The Cutting Room
The hilarious Dave Chappelle has a handful of intimate NYC shows this month at The Cutting Room and Gramercy Theatre. It’s a treat to see him in an environment this size, and not surprisingly sold out.
