What's going on Sunday?
You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…
Mayhem, Inquisition, Black Anvil @ Gramercy Theatre
Black metal legends Mayhem are currently on tour playing their classic 1994 debut album, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, in full. This is their first of two NYC shows, and this one’s got support from another veteran black metal band, Inquisition, plus NYC BMers Black Anvil, who just released the great new album As Was.
Alcest, The Body, Creepers @ Irving Plaza
Atmospheric black metal greats Alcest returned last year with Kodama, their best album since 2010. They’re supporting it on tour now with two great openers: metal genre-defiers The Body and Deafheaven offshoot Creepers.
Kodie Shane, Saucy Longwe, Cymia @ Knitting Factory
Atlanta sing-rapper Kodie Shane is part of Lil Yachty‘s Sailing Team crew, and this past December she released the Zero Gravity EP (including the Yachty collab “Sad”).
Xibalba, Separated, Super Natural Psycho, Buried Dreams, I Disappear @ Sunnyvale
Death metal-influenced hardcore band Xibalba just returned with their new Diablo EP, and they’re now supporting it on tour.
Horse Meat Disco, Sean B., Ron Like Hell, Bil Todd @ Output
This London-based four-man DJ collective are known for finding pearls in bins of forgotten disco 12″, having released a series of acclaimed compilations. Their real expertise comes into play at their DJ gigs, though. Just trust their taste…and the beat.
