What's going on Sunday?

Pinback
Pinback at When Were Young Fest (more)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Pinback, Savak @ Irving Plaza
San Diego indie rock vets Pinback are playing their beloved 2007 album Autumn of the Seraphs on tour for its 10th anniversary. Well-matched support comes from SAVAK, a new-ish band with members of Obits, The Make-Up, Holy Fuck, and more.

The Wonder Years (acoustic), Laura Stevenson, The Obsessives, Jetty Bones @ Le Poisson Rouge (two shows)
The Wonder Years make some of the finest modern-day pop punk, and this year they stripped their sound back for an acoustic EP, which they’re currently supporting on tour. Today’s two NYC shows (matinee and night show) also have them backed by a string quartet, and direct support comes from the talented Laura Stevenson, who sings on TWY’s new EP.

The New Yorker Festival
The annual New Yorker Festival continues, full of scintillating conversation with interesting people, and the occasional live music performance. Some of todays events include a talk with Chelsea Manning, a screening of Noah Baumbach’s new film The Meyerowitz Stories, and more.

The Bronx, Plague Vendor, ’68 @ Brooklyn Bazaar
Punk n’ roll staples The Bronx recently released their fifth album, V, and they’re on tour in support of it with direct support from Epitaph-signed garage punks Plague Vendor.

Best Coast, Pearl Charles @ Rough Trade
This past Wednesday, Best Coast opened for Paramore at NYC’s huge, historic Radio City Music Hall. Tonight they’re back in the city for a much smaller headlining show.

Pinact, Wild Pink, Your Dream Coat @ Mercury Lounge
Scottish punky indie rockers Pinact released a new LP on Kanine this year and NYC indie rockers Wild Pink released one on Tiny Engines. They make for a good pair.

Eagles of Death Metal, The Battery Electric @ House of Independents
Jokey sex-fueled rockers Eagles of Death Metal are on the road with Mastodon and Russian Circles but also taking the time to do some shows on their own, like this Asbury Park gig.

Tim Hoey of Cut Copy (DJ) @ Peroni Pop-Up at 201 Mulberry St
This Peroni pop-up was curated by St. Vincent, and today it includes a DJ set from Tim of Cut Copy at 7:15 PM.
