What's going on Thanksgiving Day?

Happy Thanksgiving! if you’re in NYC, we’ve got a list of 27 shows to see in NYC over Thanksgiving Weekend 2019. There’s not much going on, musically, today but you can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows. Here are some highlights…

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Most New Yorkers watch the parade like the rest of the country, on TV while sitting on their couch and getting dinner prepped. Whether you’re there in person or chilling at home in your jammies, Black Eyed Peas, Celine Dion, TLC, Chicago, Ciara, Debbie Gibson, Kelly Rowland, and more will perform. The weather forecast of heavy winds may keep the balloons from being flown this year, though.

Thanksgiving is not a bad day to go to the movies, either. Might we suggest Parasite, Knives Out, A Marriage Story, Queen & Slim, Jojo Rabbit, The Lighthouse, or Waves?

You could also go see Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman in theaters, but it’s also just hit Netflix and, let’s face it, it’s a good day for lounging on the couch. You could also watch Mike Birbiglia’s new special, The New One, or binge Watchmen, The Crown, Fleabag, Succession, When They See Us, Baby Yoda The Mandalorian, Unbelievable, Euphoria, I Think You Should Leave, Bojack Horseman, Chernobyl, Big Mouth, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, or Los Espookys.

You can also find quality entertainment on almost any night of the week at: Barbès bar and performance space in Park Slope, LunÀtico in Bed Stuy, Nublu in the East Village, Blue Note jazz club in the West Village, The Stone in multiple locations, Comedy Cellar in the West Village, and Q.E.D. comedy club in Astoria.
