What's going on Thanksgiving Day?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Happy Thanksgiving! There’s not much in the way of shows today (check out our Thanksgiving Weekend guide for shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday), but Wyclef Jean, Andra Day, Common, Smokey Robinson, Goo Goo Dolls, Jimmy Fallon and the Roots, and the casts of Broadway musicals Dear Evan Hansen and SpongeBob SquarePants will perform at the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Check it out in person or avoid the crowds and just watch it on TV like everybody else.

Thanksgiving is a good day to go to the movies — have you seen Thor: Ragnarok, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, Three Billboards Outside Ebbbing Missouri, Ladybird, or Pixar’s new movie, Coco, yet?

Various Alamo Drafthouse locations, including the one in NYC, are showing The Last Waltz, the famed concert film of The Band’s “farewell” show, filmed in Thanksgiving 1976, which also featured appearances by Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Ringo Starr, and a handful of others. Admission comes with a Thanksgiving dinner (meat or vegetarian option), and it starts at 6 PM.

Videology in Williamsburg will be showing Clue on a Loop” all day long with board games and brandy. Free.

You can also just veg out in front the TV and binge-watch some shows. May we recommend Insecure, At Home with Amy Sedaris, Spike Lee’s new She’s Gotta Have It show, Big Mouth, Legion, Mindhunter, new Netflix western Godless, Halt and Catch Fire, The Good Place, and The Deuce?

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
