You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, Kool Moe Dee, Wyclef Jean, Mr. Cheeks @ Wingate Park
The Wingate Concert series wraps up tonight with this all-star hip hop show featuring some huge names. Doors are at 6 PM and the show’s at 7 — free.

Black Sheep, Grand Puba @ Brooklyn Bowl
Native Tongues rapper Black Sheep plays Brooklyn Bowl with fellow ’90s-era MC (and Brand Nubian member) Grand Puba. The choice is yours.

Guided By Voices, Park Doing @ Industry City
Indie rock icons Guided by Voices play tonight’s edition of the Bell House Summer Series in Industry City’s outdoor courtyard.

Sparta, Sound & Shape, Sharkmuffin @ Asbury Lanes
At The Drive In are reunited without Jim Ward in the band, but Jim is taking the time to get his old band Sparta back together. They’ve released a couple new songs, and now they’re on the road for the first time in a while, playing Asbury Park tonight and NYC tomorrow.

Kemba @ MoMA
Bronx rapper Kemba (fka YC the Cynic) marries soulful production to conscious-rap lyricism, and he excels in a live environment as much as he does on album. Tonight he plays MoMA’s Summer Thursdays series, which goes from 5:30 – 8 PM and is included with museum admission.

Alkaline Trio, together PANGEA, Ogikubo Station @ Starland Ballroom
Grim, melodic punk vets Alkaline Trio are releasing their first album in five years on Epitaph later this month, but first they’re on tour with two cool openers: the super-fun garage punks together PANGEA and Ogikubo Station, the new duo of Maura Weaver of Mixtapes and Mike Park of Asian Man Records (who released Alkaline Trio’s first two albums and first two EPs). They play NJ tonight and Brooklyn tomorrow.

The Daily Show Writers: A Non-Daily Show @ UCB Hell’s Kitchen
The Daily Show writers come to UCB once a month to return to their roots as improvisors. This cast includes UCB legend Chad Carter, along with Jimmy Donn, Hallie Haglund, Matt Koff, Zhubin Parang, Sebastian DiNatale, and Eliza Cossio.

Pop Show @ Union Hall
Ziwe Fumudoh (The Rundown with Robin Thede) hosts this monthly comedy musical extravaganza in which performers on the bill must perform original pop songs for the audience. This month’s lineup includes Ayo Edebiri (The Rundown with Robin Thede), Janelle James (Night Train with Wyatt Cenac), Sydnee Washington (the UnOfficial Expert podcast), Anna Drezen (Saturday Night Live), Mo Fry Pasic (Funny Or Die), Jenny Gorelick (Jenny’s Birthday @ Union Hall), and Hunter Speese (Inside Amy Schumer).

JD Samson, PAT Party @ Union Pool
For years onetime Le Tigre member JD Samson has been hosting PAT which is a “party for anyone from anywhere wearing anything and loving who they want. Video art. Amazing DJs and people willing to let go.”

Springsteen on Broadway
The Boss continues his sold-out “Springsteen on Broadway” run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, which has now been extended through December. At these shows, Bruce is giving fans shows “that are as personal and as intimate as possible.”
