What's going on Thursday?

Operators at T5, 2015 (more by Amanda Hatfield)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Operators present Handsome Furs @ Baby’s All Right
Handsome Furs have been broken up ever since band members Dan Boeckner and Alexei Perry ended their marriage, but for just two shows, Dan’s current band Operators is revisiting the Handsome Furs songs. The first is in Brooklyn tonight and the second is in Toronto on Saturday.

Phosphorescent, Liz Cooper and the Stampede @ Brooklyn Steel
Phosphorescent’s 2013 album Muchacho was a huge breakthrough for him, and though it took him five years to follow it, it was worth the wait. This year’s C’est La Vie is a killer followup and not at all a repeat of what he’s done in the past. Having played an intimate NYC release show when the album first came out, Phos is back for a larger show tonight.

Trey Songz, Tory Lanez, Lil Baby, Gunna @ Kings Theatre (Hot 97 for the Holidays)
Hot 97 is throwing a holiday show at Kings Theatre tonight with popular R&B singers Trey Songz and Tory Lanez, plus rising rappers Lil Baby and Gunna who released the collaborative, buzzed about Drip Harder this year.

Container, White Material @ Brooklyn Bazaar
Noise/electronic artist Container is bringing his punishing sound on tour as we speak and hitting Brooklyn tonight.

Curls (ex-Girls), Jane Church @ Berlin
Christopher Owens, who used to front Girls, is back with his new band that sounds a lot like his old one, both in name and sound.

A Muppets Christmas Carol: Live Reading & Singalong @ Union Hall
Comedians Jo Firestone, Casey James Salengo, Shalewa Sharpe, Carmen Lagala, Sam Evans, Nasser Khan, Sarah Kennedy, Tim Platt, Cathy Humes, The Ranger Sisters, and more take part in this live reading (and singing!) of the Muppets Christmas classic.
Justin Vivian Bond is Refrigerated @ Joe’s Pub

Springsteen on Broadway
After a year of sold-out shows at The Walter Kerr Theater, The Boss will wrap up “Springsteen on Broadway” on Saturday. For those who didn’t manage to score a ticket (or didn’t want to spend the money on them) his intimate show is coming to Netflix as a concert special on Sunday.

Justin Vivian Bond is Refrigerated @ Joe’s Pub
Cabaret legend and one half of iconic duo Kiki & Herb, Justin Vivian Bond presents thisholiday show where “the elite and the sandwich meet, Jesus is in the cheeses, and the Goddess’ dressing is on the side. If the power holds the patriarchy will soon be crushed ice! That’s cold!”
