You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Robert Plant, Sheryl Crow, Larkin Poe, Alice Smith, Bernie Williams,
Whoopi Goldberg, Martin Short, Buddy Guy, Hozier, Grace Potter, more @ Beacon Theatre (Love Rocks NYC)
It’s the annual Love Rocks NYC benefit which brings together a whole lot of amazing talent to help out charity God’s Love We Deliver.

Fontaines DC, Body Type, Teen Body @ Union Pool
Irish band Fontaines DC will soon be touring all over the place with IDLES but you can say you saw them here first, their NYC live debut. If you got tickets, that is, as this show is sold out.

A. Savage (of Parquet Courts), Ryley Walker, Gospel of Mars @ (le)
poisson rouge
Parquet Courts singer-guitarist A. Savage plays solo tonight, and his collaborator Ryley Walker is also on the bill…perhaps they’ll do a couple songs together.

Nothing, Tony Molina, Candy @ Brooklyn Bazaar
Here’s a cool triple of bill of three acts that all share a punk spirit but sound very different: shoegazers Nothing, indie rocker Tony Molina, and hardcore crew Candy. They’re playing three NYC-area shows this week, this being the second (and the only one in NYC proper).

Cass McCombs, Sam Evian @ Murmrr Theatre
Cass McCombs went in more of a Grateful Dead-inspired direction than ever on this year’s great Tip of the Sphere, and he did so without losing sight of his own trademark sound. He’s supporting the album on tour now and this is his first of two NYC shows.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Don Q, Trap Manny @ Terminal 5
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie continues his meteoric rise with sold-out NYC shows at Terminal 5 tonight and Brooklyn Steel tomorrow.

New Colossus Festival
If you miss the days of running around the Lower East Side and East Village during CMJ, New Colossus is here to put a little of that feeling back, with shows packed with emerging artists from around the world happening at Pianos, Arlene Grocery, The Delancey, Coney Island Baby, Bower Electric and Berlin Under A.

Hussy, Honey Cutt, The Natvral, Nicole Yun, Basement Revolver, Wooing, Tallies, Honey Lung, Living Hour, Flirting, Ellis, Syvia @ Pianos (Kanine New Colossus Showcase)
Your best bet at New Colossus tonight is probably this Kanine Records showcase that takes over both stages at pianos, featuring The Natvral (Kip from Pains), Nicole Yun (Eternal Summers), Canadian bands The Living Hour, Tallies, Ellis, and lots more.

Laura Carbone, Das Body, Munya, Theodore, Graham Van Pelt, Lila, Mimico @ Berlin Under A
Another good New Colossus option is at Berlin Under A, featuring Montreal acts Munya and Graham Van Pelt (Miracle Fortress) who offer up two very different styles of synthpop.

Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Necrot, Blood Incantation @ PlayStation Theater
The Decibel tour has a stacked lineup of all death metal this year, with veteran bands Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel plus newer bands Necrot and Blood Incantation. Cannibal Corpse will be playing with the great Erik Rutan (who produced four of their albums), while Pat O’Brien is taking a break from the band due to recent legal issues.

Robyn x Björn Borg Party w/Kindness, Opening Ceremony, BUBBLE_T, Papi Juice @ Sony Hall
Papi Juice and Bubble T host a party for Robyn’s new fashion line RBN x BJÖRN BORG at Sony Hall, with DJ sets from Robyn and Kindness.

WNYC’s Ask Me Another w/ Aparna Nancherla @ The Bell House
Ophira Eisenberg’s quiz show podcast, that counts Jonathan Coulton as its band, welcomes Aparna Nancherla into the hot seat at this live taping.

Prince Paul, MC Paul Barman @ The Safari Room at El Cortez
It’s a trip back to the early ’00s with PC Paul Barman and producer and Handsome Boy Modelling School headmaster Prince Paul (who produced MC Paul Barman’s 2000 EP, It’s Very Stimulating)

Sasheer Zamata, Michelle Buteau, Liza Treyger, Alex English @ Baby’s All Right
Laugh it up with “An Evening with Sasheer Zamata” featuring #ADULTING’s Michelle Buteau, and lots more.
