You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Mutual Benefit, Florist, Nassau @ Baby’s All Right
Somewhere between indie folk and chamber pop lies the tender sounds of Mutual Benefit. This is their second of two NYC shows this week.

Buckshot, Smif N Wessun, Rock of Heltah Skeltah, A-F-R-O &, Marco Polo, Chelsea Reject (Duck Down BBQ) @ Betsy Head Memorial Playground
NYC’s great underground hip hop label Duck Down throws its annual free BBQ tonight, and the lineup is stacked as always.

Quilt, Widowspeak, Cut Worms @ Bowery Ballroom
A very solid triple bill of psychedelic, ’60s-leaning pop with Boston’s Quilt and Brooklyn’s Widowspeak. Go early to catch rising talent Cut Worms who recently ditched his iPod backing for a full band.

Mark Lanegan @ Gramercy Theatre
Screaming Trees frontman Mark Lanegan (also of Gutter Twins, Mad Season, QOTSA, etc) went in new, synthier directions on last year’s Phantom Radio, which went surprisingly well his smoky croon.

Book Of Love, Fever High, Andrew Andrew, Alex English @ Highline Ballroom
American synthpop band Book of Love were staples in ’80s alternative danceclubs with “Boy” and “I Touch Roses” and some may remember their song “Sunny Day” used in Silence of the Lambs. They’re celebrating their 30th anniversary this year and tonight’s show features all the original members of the band.

Sleep, Battles @ House of Vans
This is a wild double bill with stoner metal legends Sleep and math rock wizards Battles. It’s free but RSVP is closed.

A$AP Ferg, Tory Lanez @ Irving Plaza
A$AP Ferg returned this year with Always Strive and Prosper, which among other things, includes his unstoppable hit “New Level.”

Deerhoof, Kill Alters, Ed Balloon @ Market Hotel
Deerhoof have been making weird and wonderful indie rock for over 20 years. Tonight’s the second of two Market Hotel shows celebrating the release of Deerhoof’s new album, The Magic.

Tomorrow’s Tulips, Holy Tunics, RIPS, Dirty Blondes @ Baby’s All Right
Pro surfers Alex Knost and Ford Archbold make folky psych-pop as Tomorrow’s Tulips when not hanging ten, as can be heard on their new album Indy Rock Royalty Comb which is out via Burger Records. RIPS are worth checking out too.

Alvvays, Ducktails, Big Thief @ Prospect Park Bandshell (Celebrate Brooklyn)
Makers of superior indie pop, Canadian band Alvvays headline this free BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival show with opening sets from Ducktails, and Saddle Creek-signed Big Thief.

SOAK, Overcoats @ Rough Trade
Charming young Irish singer SOAK released her debut album, Before We Forgot How To Dream, last year. Her songs are reason enough to go, but she’s a good, funny storyteller as well, so expect a few between-song banter sessions.

Chris Gethard, Jo Firestone @ The Bell House
Chris Gethard and Jo Firestone are both very funny on their own, so who knows what will happen when they team up tonight as ‘FIREGETH.’

Oneirogen, Kel Valhaal, Luminous Vault @ Trans-Pecos
One-man industrial band Oneirogen graces his hometown with another show tonight.

A-Wa @ Webster Hall Marlin Room
Israeli sister trio A-Wa are a band who, in their own words, “combine Yemenite folk singing with electronic dance music.” They made their NYC debut in March and now they’re back.

Amy Klein, Mixed Doubles, Hailey Wojcik, Pecas @ Silent Barn
Amy Klein, who used to be in Titus Andronicus and also fronts/fronted Hilly Eye and Leda, released her debut solo album Fire earlier this year on Don Giovanni. It’s raw, catchy indie rock songwriting that fans of PJ Harvey or Liz Phair may dig.

Michael Christmas, Tunji Ige, Tobi Lou @ The Studio at Webster Hall
Philly rapper Tunji Ige made quite the mark with his single “On My Grind” and an appearance on Christine & the Queens’ album. That single eventually ended up on his Missed Calls mixtape, which is out now.

Robert Glasper & Jason Moran @ Blue Note Jazz Club
The Blue Note Jazz Festival continues with a residency from the great jazz/hip hop pianist Robert Glasper.
